Just wondering if anyone has an extra flash for an ANH Han Solo droid caller or is looking to get rid of one, I would be interested in buying it.

Thanks.

Just happens that one is on Ebay. This an original, so I imagine it get pricey. Ebay droid caller original
If your looking for one and cost is an issue I would suggest taking a look at the Han archives under droid caller, there you will find more options. Han Archive

How to build your own Droid caller ( Thanks to Montee on this find! )

I did see that one, and I was going to ask about it. It doesn't look like the same model carried by Solo. Is it actually different?

It is the exact one... or should I say one of two known droid callers for Han, just imagine it painted black, then weathered back so metal shows.

ESB and ROTJ Droid caller

ANH Droid caller

Without spending a ton of time on this.... I have seen 2 movie versions, one has a smooth silver base ( ESB and ROTJ)... the one your looking at. The other is has a hardened black material on it (ANH) that looks like a black leather from a distance, but is not. I have both originals and have also own both resin versions. The one for sale is legit! It just need to be painted like they did in the movies.

Oh there are also at least 2 other versions that go around on displays that have never been in the movie.

These original droid callers can go easily up to 100$ each... just so you know.

Hope this info helps...

My ANH caller:

Closeup of bottom"plate" (often missing) and the textured surface:

And cause i wanted a function, i made a inset with a torchlight:

(Han having a droidcaller never made sense to me, as far as i know he never owned one - but having a light is always good when doing shady business. Laughing )

It snaps in and out just as the original bulb adapter, i don´t wanted to damage such a vintage part to much:

And a small vid of the light

Han probably wished, at times, that it would work to shut 3-PO up! Laughing

yeah, I am not sure why some of the droid callers are made to light up... seems like a gimik or something. Am I missing something... is it supposed to light up? I have never read anything anywhere that its a flashligh as well as a droid caller.

If it is just a gimik...I don't see anything wrong with it ... just confused as to why.

It´s just a gimmick. Very Happy

And as i mentioned in my above post - i see no sense in Han having a droidcaller. Now it´s a torchlight, basta. Cool

Yeah, Han didn't really even like droids.

In the radio drama, when 3-PO introduces himself to Han, he says something like, "I'm not too fond of machinery that talks back."

Yep, the Kobold flash is on eBay every other week.

It's also used in the Fusion Cutter that Chewie uses at the beginning of Empire.
