Darryl and I have been discussing having a Midwest R2 Builders Gathering this summer at my house..

since time flies faster and faster each year...I decided to at least try to start establishing a date..

The last Midwest Gathering was attended by WI, IL and IN Builders...

We have several Nar Shaddaa Base members who have either started an R2 project by gathering up needed pieces.... or have expressed a desire to check into this sort of project...

So...
Builders...
wannabe Builders...

I have posted a message at the R2 Builders Yahoo Group...
and will also direct people to this thread to discuss..

let's hear it...

my initial gut reaction is a Saturday in either June or July.

Thoughts?

Well I LOVE R2 but I am not the best builder. I, FOR SURE, would love to come and observe the magic. I'd have to see how broke I am at the time. Lol.

Welll, if there is a need for parts. i do have a collection or resin parts that I will gladly bring, and if anyone can use them they are welcome to the parts.

I have every confidence that you will start work on R2 soon...
as a matter of fact, you can have those skins I bought.

After careful consideration, it occured to me that since Artoo was built in a rather unorthodox manner, it is a good probability that those skins I have in a box won't work for me as they are scored for the more traditional build....so a lot of the holes in my Artoo's wood frame/shell probably won't line up anyway.....

so not gonna remove the old skins off Artoo only to find out that the new skins won't work.

Wink

is there anyway we could try and wrap those skins around him to see if it lines up?
I would hate for you to give up those skins, if there is some way we can make them work for you..

I don't think so....
I have decided to work with what I have...
and be ok with Artoo as he is....

making changes hasn't gone too well in the past...
and usually opens up new cans of worms that I just don't want to deal with....
there are only so many hours in a day..
and I have so many projects - not only SW but Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, and Resource Management volunteer that I just am tired of a pile of projects all the time...

this coming weekend I am going to paint the kitchen....
I had hoped by this time in my life I could just hire people to do tasks I hate...lol..
but that ain't happening...

Wink

btw...still got that sewing machine...since I will have the house torn apart starting Thursday...I would like to try and get the sewing machine to you sometime this week...it will be one less thing to trip over..

Very Happy
