Anyone else interested in Padme's latest gown? There is something about the simplicity of the tan coloured dress that she wore in the last two episodes that I find very appealing, and have started considering making it. And she looks so different with her hair styled like that!

I grabbed a couple of screen caps from the last episode while watching it online...sorry for the awful quality. The last episode does give us some nice views of the dress, and as soon as I download it I will take some higher-res images.

So, I'm thinking tan suedecloth for the outer layer, similar to her Mustafar outfit, and perhaps linen for the sleeves and underskirt?

It appears to be two pieces with a slightly darker underdress beneath the outer layer.

Despite the simplicity of the design, it may be slightly challenging to draft a sewing pattern for this one.....it looks like a fitted bodice in back and an a-line cut in front. Rolling Eyes

I like her new outfit, and was kind of puzzled about the hair, most of her other hair styles don't have bangs, and this one does. And is her hair supposed to be bobbed, or just in loose ponytail with the rest of hair hidden under the collar? So does she have a wig with bangs and bobbed length, or has she gotten new (virtual) hair cut? Confused

It does look like a bob, but she also appears with long hair in the same episodes. I'm guessing it's styled in some kind of bun or roll concealed in her high collar.

And bangs, wow. That means she must be slicking them back into all of her fancier hairstyles, the same way we costumers often do. Wink

When the costume and hairstyle first appeared it was when she was having supper with Satine, so I was under the impression that she was affecting the short hair that seems to be in vogue among Mandalorian women. But then it appears again on Alderaan, so that theory goes out the window.

I liked it too. Can't wait until they show Padme on Alderaan with an all WHITE outfit. Wink Leia Buns

I got some good high-rez screencaps of this outfit (and her other new ones).

The hairstyle makes me think more of Mon Mothma than Padme. Why'd they give her bangs? She never has bangs or bob hair dos. ??

Not sure if any of you have come across these or not, but I thought I'd throw em up in case you haven't.

Excellent reference; thanks for posting! Not only does it show the hairstyle in detail, but it also defines the colours of the gown more clearly than in the cartoon.

Also these. Glad to help out. Just ran across them this morning and remembered reading this post and wondered if some of the questions had been resolved. Very Happy

Two new outfits for Padme in the latest episode last week. Funny how the first one shows her actually choosing costumes via holograms for a party! Razz

Two new costume threads! Smile

I love her new costume! I'm very, very interested in making it, especially because it is really fairly simple.

Hehe - I was just noticing how light Padme's hair color is looking. Closer to my own hair color. But I don't have bangs... hahah! (Makes me feel like we are being *poked* for all the 'no bangs' in our standards. ROTF! Now Padme has bangs).

Eh, I think if I spend time making a female CW costume it would probably be a Jedi. Padme is never requested for the CW events Sad
