Wouldn't that mean they were "frelled" Wink (good answer BTW)

Thanks for posting that pic Kievan Mereel!

It always sounded a bit weird to me that some "magical bubble" would suddenly "poof" around the pilot to protect them...

From some of the Rogue Squadron graphic novels I've read, the containment field covers the entire pilot/ejection seat... which would allow the pilot time to lower visor and attach a breather mask before any short-term battery power used to power the containment field gives out.

Otherwise, we'd all be wearing those BSG Viper helmets! Wink

I found a RAF used oxygen mask on ebay which looks semilar to the mask on the Helmet.I contacted Andrew Ainsworth from SDS who design this helmet and he tells me that is the Mask he used with some scratchbuild parts.
Here is the ebay link:

Here's details from the Heir to the Empire comic of Luke using his breather during an EVA. I'm guessing the reason he has an air hose to the ship must be because he's taking an extended repair session and doesn't want to use up his emergency ejection reserves.

Just bumping this 'cause it's awesome and is there enough reference to make this version official?
