I put a few of them in the pile of stuff I am bringing tomorrow...
just please remember to ask me for them...
I am sure things will be hectic and I am liable to forget to give them to you... _________________

Well...Valissa's friend's Jedi belt is done...
the belt was part of the MSABC fundraising incentives...
bearing in mind that I don't profess to be a leather worker/belt maker...
this was the road I ended up taking...
I started out with the same belt that Janine did...
it is a really dark brown leather tool belt with what I feel is an interesting look to it....
I started by drilling out the rivits that hold the buckle in place to gain more length in places where I wanted length...
Where I kinda also liked the white stitching...
I decided to remove it all...
Then the thin belt will be of a contrasting color...which I also like..
and this is it done:
the back:
still pondering a cover/sleeve for the back...
the one I made ended up too small and I don't have any very large pieces of leather... _________________

Finally...
Time to start General Lando...
at least I have all the pieces cut out.
The tough part on this will be trying to adapt the Endor Trooper vest not only to a General Lando...
but to adapt it to a different size ...
we shall see how it goes.. _________________

I actually did get the cap sleeves (the pockets and sleeves actually) done yesterday morning...
but then I got the call...
grabbed my Nomex, helmet and goggles and went out to do some prairie burning..
egad...I am getting too old to be lugging 40 pounds of water on my back while carrying fire rakes and flappers and scrambling through brush....
I came home 7 hours later and every bone in my body hurt..

General Lando Calrissian's Jacket...
well..
as far as I want to take it without Steve trying it on first...
even put the spiffy little pleat in the cap sleeve pocket..

General Lando's jacket is done...and Steve tried it on before I finished some of the final details...and it fits him well...
Obviously....the jacket is on my dress form...and me and Steve are a wee bit different in size....lol...but I think you get the idea...
Steve and I discussed some of the other elements of the costume...and it will probably be some months till done...but General Lando will be a reality!
One of the things that I had thought about was the blaster/holster for his hold out blaster...
I remembered that I bought (dirt cheap) some WWII holsters from a guy at Cyphan...
Anybody else picking up what I am laying down?
I bought two of them...wish I would have bought more...
can't even buy plain leather for what I paid for these... _________________

let the insanity begin...
the Snowspeeder Pilot jacket...
Where I did cut out the basic jacket pattern pieces (eliminating some of the seams of the pattern by pinning pattern pieces together)...I didn't go any further until I started on those insane box pleats for the sleeves....
I tried a bunch of different ways...and had to settle on the pin technique...
so...out of the approximate 44 inches of pleats....I have 3" done...
lol...

egad...what a pain in the butt those box pleats are...
I know this will be one of those projects like Hoth..
would rather remove my own spleen with a rusty butter knife than do another one..
I can only stand to do a few of the pleats at a time.....
and then once pinned still have to be sewn..
