As some of you know I have my Tusken Raider head that I have made.
http://djsyczylo.net/replicas/StarWars/TuskenHelm/TRhelm.htm

With all the new Tuskens in the group I think I just may have to copy you all and do the entire outfit.

I do not know much about Tuskens so I will need some help on this. If anyone has any suggestions or tips they would be greatly appreciated.

The best fabric for the robes is monks cloth. I used a cotton/linen-type cloth for the wraps and a gauze for the scarf and sash.

I tea-dyed the wraps, scarf, and sash. Then, at Perkeo's suggestion, dipped the robe in coffee and let it leech up the fabric.

I found the gloves at Home Depot and the boots at Wal-Mart (they are just rubber cow-milking boots).

I created a under-sleeve for the wraps to be adhered to and used Elmer's Spray Adhesive to secure them. I used E-6000 to secure the wraps to the boots though.

As those who know or have been around me know that this week I plan to have my Tusken Raider complete but without a gaffi stick. I do have a rifle. I am waiting on Mel to get the gaffi stick kits done.

As of tonight I need to get one more tube of glue to finish my boots and then I can weather them up some more.

Then I just need to attach my two bandoliers together and my Tusken will be complete.

I may need to borrow someones gaffi stick for submission pictures for the 510st and Rebel Legion.

I hope you don't mind me chiming in.

It looks good. My comments are minor. It looks like you hemmed the sleeves. They should be unfinished and tattered.

Also, sometimes the camera washes it out but to me it looks like you need to be dirtier. Evil or Very Mad Wink Don't be afraid to mist it with some black spray paint or if you prefer you could even do instant coffee in a spray bottle.

Once you are approved don't forget to sign up for The Wretched Hive:

cause you're our kind of scum. Wink Razz

Actually the end of the sleeves are not hemmed, they will probably be fraying in no time.

I did make a small update to the helmet tonight due to a suggestion. I added a little torn fabric around the eye ports just to fill in the leather gap, it seemed to be to much there. It looks much better now.

Yeah I am thinking of getting a little more dirty. More browns and blacks will be used.

As soon as I am approved I will be sure to join the "The Wretched Hive."

Yeah it does look to clean. I actually cut the ends to make them shorter since I sewn them way to long. I probably should have messed the edges up a bit before I took the picts.

Thanks for any feedback or suggestions to make this outfit better. I cannot wait to get approved.

With the quality of the costumes you make I don't see a problem with it being approved. Very Happy

Still no reply of having my Tusken Raider approved. I wonder if it got through or is it just being slow?

If you don't hear by the 2 week mark you might want to ask Hof to see what the hold up is. Very Happy

I'm not sure where the Creature judges are, but the build looks good. I'm photoshopping the frame, but I can't approve it, at least not yet.

It's a good looking kit, well done. Cool
