I'm looking at doing a Bespin Luke for my six year old this Halloween. Being mostly a one-use costume, I don't want to sew this from scratch, so I'm hoping to find something mostly there tha I can alter. Has anyone done this before?

Last year I made him a Boba Fett from scratch. That was about as much work as an adult costume, and definitely had the same amount of painting done to it. I hope to spend less time this year!

I made my 5-year old this costume for CV, but I started from scratch.

I made covers for his shoes, but he didn't wear them at CV. I just didn't have the time to fiddle with it. Rolling Eyes

My 15 (almost 16) year old son wants to use my Bespin Luke jacket that my mother bought me when I was about 11 or 12 (never wore it because it was too big for me at that time) and do a Luke Bespin costume for CVI. We got him cargo pants that are close the same color as the jacket and he will use the old Kenner Han Solo blaster (I need to paint it for him).

What he will need is a belt with gun holster. Since this is just a for fun costume, I'm not going to go spend a lot to make this costume, so I need some ideas.

For the boots, I was gonna get him some inexpensive shoes that look like the bottoms of Luke's boots/footwear, then sew on some matching (or close to matching) fabric to form the "boot". Then add some fabric strips for the closures. I think that will work. For the saber I was thinking of just getting him the Ulitmate Fx saber (Anakin's) from Wal-Mart.

If we can get this getup to look decent, he may go ahead and join the Galactic Academy. Any help here would be appreciated.
