I'm starting a costume based on Obi-Wan - my goal is to meet Legion requirements for an Episode III Obi-Wan, but if I can't, I'll stick to a generic Jedi. I'm fairly low-budget, and wondering about the lightsaber.

I'm waiting for the removable blade Force FX lightsaber to be available, and wondering if that hilt will meet the requirements for the Episode III Hero hilt. The ROTS Obi-Wan (and ROTJ Luke) lightsabers have a thicker neck due to the limitations of the Master Replica/Hasbro blade design, which makes them less screen-accurate than the others.

In your opinions, would this meet Legion requirements, or, have converted Force FX hilts been accepted in the past?

Converted Force FX sabers are accepted.

I'm watching for this item as well - has anyone heard of a release date for this from Hasbro? I keep reading everyone 'pre-order, shipping September 2010', but we all know how estimated shipping times run.

Again, the Jedi counsel patience... (sigh)

Force FX lightsabers are acceptable for formal OWK even though the neck is a bit thicker than the collectible hilts.
