So here's a link to my previous tutorial on how to build a Slave Leia Costume...

http://www.rebellegionuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=704

And so it begins again....
After the theft of my LMB bought bikini and the fact i feel like my papier mache 'kini looks too handmade, i am pulling out all the stops to make a screen accurate version of the bikini that i am happy with!

I have decided to sculpt, mould and cast the 'kini myself and the first step was completed last weekend.... 'Ere tis!

Items needed;

5 x Modroc Plaster Of Paris Bandages - 15cm x 2.75m
1 x Bowl of warm water
1 x willing volunteer
1 x cutting device for chopping your way out (we used garden shears)
1 x set of underwear you don't mind getting plastery

So I spent a couple of hours with my sister whilst she wrapped me in modroc plaster bandages... We chopped the strips into managable strips about 1 m long. Do your very besy not to get the bandage wrinkled when dipping it in the water else it can be a nightmare to unwrinkle..

Here are a few snaps!

The front..

The side..

The back...

My boobs... (she thought it was a necessary shot...)

And me unsheathed Wink ...

Just need to stick it back together and stuff it with newspaper... Then i'm ready to sculpt...

Cheers,
Alice

Ah, the bowknot was from a bikini. Looked rather funny on your back shots. ^^

Hi Alice - sorry you couldn't open the other tutorial... that's a bit weird... I will be casting the pieces in a semi flexible resin reinforced with fine chain

Yes a bikini Christian! I was considering wearing nothing under it but the though of being 'unsheathed' at the side of a public road just felt odd ;P
Yes, not just anyone but my mean ex stole it, go figure...

Magnius - glad i could be your muse! Very Happy

Thanks for the comments guys, just waiting for the plasticine to arrive so i can get sculpting!!

Yeah, well that would be a bit odd. ^^
When I saw the backshot I thought it might be a joke. You were wrapped like a Christmas present and your photographer/friend had the idea it would be funny, if you would get a bowknot. However, I'm talking me back to my little hole of embarassment. *cough cough*

Wow, you're brave being cast in plaster like that! Did it get warm while it cured? But, what a great way to get the perfect fit! I just took wire and bent it around my body...not the most 100% accurate way. Rolling Eyes I'm interested to see more, when you get further along in the process. Great start!

I need to make a chest plate for my friend and didn't think of doing a cast of her. Never heard of these bandages! I'm going to give it a try.

Where can you get the modroc plaster bandages?

thanks,
Oscar
