or better yet get a car like these.

They were giving rides all day long at our local car show back in 2007. I had r2 there in the car. I think we startled the locals. hehehehe

yeah, I am sure that ferry is expensive. Though it looks like I got Keith talked into it.

Yeah, I myself was too chicken to get in the car and try it. Besides, I was keeping an eye on r2. My daughter Sage of course got a couple rides in it. She always makes out at events, cause she puts on that cute an innocent smile. I tell people its a ploy, but no one ever believes me. hehehe, Ah seriously alot of my events would be a real pain if it weren't for her and her sisters.

I almost have syndy considering making her own costume, as she turns 18 in only a couple months.

Well they are old in car years, just like a pc is old after 7 years. cars that are over 30 are a classic. heheheh But yeah those cars are old. I have never seen anything like them at any of the car shows I have been to.

I am told by my Mom that I used to do that very same thing. Smile

Changing posts, since this is a completely different topic...

Does anyone (Darryl...??) have any ideas how I can rig R2 up to throw out the first pitch at a baseball game? I have roughly a year to figure it out because Brent Ashcroft, the 501st member who coordinates the West Michigan Whitecaps Star Wars night every year has promised me that next year we will have a R2-D2 theme and he wants my R2 to throw out the first pitch!! Smile

whoa....
that is definitely a question for Darryl...

I can't see R2 getting enough velocity from his utility arms to get a pitch over the plate from the mound..

and

Darryl..

if you want an inexpensive costume for your daughter..

lol..
the Rebel Tech...
after 2 years...I finally actually wore my Tech at the recent Relay for Life..

you know what I think... hmm, a spring loaded barrel that mounts over his right shoulder, you could dress it up to look like a a bazooka.. as phyllis is right, you would never be able to get enough power out of the utility arms.

Make the cannon work just like the saber thrower.. it would look cool, paint it white to match your r2 with ods and ends of greeblies to make it look space age, including a maybe some hoses.

I think it would be pretty cool.

I myself need to get a functional drink holder for s5.. he has been invited to a formal for the free masons. I need one that can hold drinks that are full without the fear of them dropping. I was thinking of modifying a A&A tray.

after sleeping on it... I got to thinking, phyllis what kind of shoes/boots are you wearing in the technician suit? you can barely tell other than they are dark? I dont know if she would want to do it, but who knows maybe i would. I am always looking for more comfortable costumes with r2. I even thought about a jedi, but after looking at all the pieces... I don't know if I am that good with a sewing machine.

It goes without saying that I would LOVE to see you in Jedi Darryl...

but in answer to your question regarding the Rebel Tech..
the boots I have on are my RFT boots...
any black, low heeled, and rounded toe boot will due...since you don't see the top of the boot, it doesn't matter how tall it is...

here is a little screen capture of the Techs during the Celebration scene at the end of ANH..
as you can see...
an abundance of different footwear can be seen..

Very Happy

Actually....you are correct Darryl...
Rebel Techs and Hoth Hangar Troopers and Techs wear the same gray flightsuit/jumpsuit as the Imperial scanning crews and AT AT Drivers..

Where there was a lively discussion on whether the suits were tan or gray...
A Hoth extra verified Hoth jumpsuits were indeed gray and those same suits rendered very tan under some of the lights for filming...

and photo taken by someone on the film crew outdoors in natural light of Yavin Techs revealed that they were gray...

yeah, but I have seen you ladies can sew. I was able to do the jump suit, so I probably will start with that tech, maybe sometime in the spring we can get together and have a sewing b phyllis. I think I could do the jedi, I just need more time, and right now I am in the middle of learning how to tool leather for another star wars project.(keeping this one quiet for now.. not sure how it will turn out) But will come in handy for things like holsters and such in the future... I just have to lay out a schedule for myself so I dont jump into to many projects. hehehehehe

I have seen your dress Rae, you definitely have some mad skills there. There were some crazy stitches in that one dress... I believe it was a padme dress. All I know it was awesome the way the threads criss-crossed.
