I can't remember. I think I ended up using 40 or something.

Honestly, just map a couple of different beauty supply shops and clean them out of the colors you need every other week.

I only used #27 (50 packs) and #44 (20 packs) on mine. Some people use some other colors. I have some left over of each color.
I got the #27 from Texas Beauty Supply and the #44 from ikickshins.net

Hope that helps.

I got the majority of my hair from iKickShins like ChrisB. I got 40 #27, and then 6 or so of #44, #280, and a couple packs of #4 and #6.

I'm no where near finished latch hooking yet, so i don't know if i'll need to order more yet.

Keep us updated! We love to follow new Wookiee WIP's!

When blowdrying the hair do i blow dry it laying down or do I hold it in one hand and let it fly like hair in the breeze?

The easiest way I found to blow dry the hair is to take it off the card backing but do not take off the rubber bands. Sit on the floor with one foot on the end and hold the other end. Use the other hand with the blow dryer and go up and down side to side with the dryer close to the hair. I use it on a high heat and high fan setting. I never had any trouble with it melting or getting damaged. Test the heat of the dryer. Straighten the hair all the way to the end and flip it around to get the ends. Cut off the middle rubber band and cut the hair to size. Do not let it fly in the wind or it will get tangled. Hope this helps...

OK, dumb noob question: I went to ikickshins site... what category/type of hair do you choose? Thanks.

I bought mine from the same place. I got the 100% Kanekalon Jumbo Braid Hair from the bulk section http://ikickshins.net/bulk.php

Donberto17, regarding the hair straightening. I used the same method as Wookiewannabe. It works well, just make sure you don't melt the hair (i haven't done that yet, but it can get really hot, pretty fast)

Hope that helps

Sorry, gotta ask. I'm assuming that the 100% Kanekalon KK Jumbo Braid Hair from IKickShins is a matte, correct?

Not necessarily. I ordered through there and got shiny. I think you have to specifically request the matte.
