hey guys
I'm new to the legion, but I've been costumeing for along time. Recently I decided to do an a-wing pilot, but after seaching around and not finding the helmet anywhere I decided to make my own. here's some photo's let me know what you think.

left:

back:

It needs some squareing up and reshapeing but I thought it was a nice start. Smile

It's definitely a good start ... and you're right, you won't find an A-wing helmet anywhere.

However, I highly recommend searching the Pilot forums here for A-wing topics. There have been several concerning this helmet that you might find helpful.

Good luck!

Looks like a good start to me. The only thing I notice is the thick ridge around the side seems a little off to me. It might have the ridge going around the back, I'm not sure, but around the front and sides it seems to simply flatten and merge in with the base of the helmet to become a flat surface. It than has "domes" on either side kind of like the B-Wing helmet.
Really, it kind of reminds me of an elongated B-Wing helmet.

Edit: Hmm... well, actually, maybe it does have that long ridge and the vents are actually on the front of the ridge itself on the left and right side, not one a "dome"...

That's a very nice start. I often wish I could sculpt in clay, but I don't know that much about it right now, so I couldn't do it justice. I think I'll just stick with Bondo. Laughing But, like I said, this is a good start. I'm interested to see where this goes.

David.

That's one interesting picture. I wonder if the back tilts down that much in the other images? I can't really tell. If it does... man, it just looks weird. Razz
Maybe it does go down that much in the back... It just seems so strange, though, but who knows what the prop-makers were thinking?
It's probably a good picture to go by, though, as it does match the other images pretty well. I just can't tell exactly about the back.

Holy crap! Where did you find that pic at? Got any of elvis high fiveing bigfoot? lol. well the resin it looks weird is cause those styrofoam heads are kind of small so it can't wear it all that well. the blast sheld should be up off the head when you attach it to the an-h-15. plus the blast sheld moves. they just didn't use it in the movie.

That's what I was going to post about the helmet looking so big because of the styrofom heads being smaller.

Except I was going to spell it "reason", instead of "resin".
