Had a Steampunk wedding to go to this last weekend (and I thought *I* was geeky Smile ) and have been working on putting a Han Solo inspired Steampunk outfit together.

First I got my gear together...

Painted up a Rubies Han blaster and a spare droid caller (now a clank/mech caller I guess). Han belt tools are now literal tools and a medal of Yavin for some extra bling.

Then made a belt

Then all the traditional components..white shirt, black vest, navy slacks, black boots...plus goggles and mutton chops for that Steampunk flair.

Ready for a wedding!

What was interesting was people didn't immediately get the Star Wars inspiration until I drew the blaster. When I had the blaster in my hand it made all the difference in the look of the outfit.

And now I have another costume to wear around the cons.

I like the side beard. *rofl* It does give the costume a steampunk look that it could never achieve alone.

Very impressive work.

Yeah, the mutton chops took almost as much planning as the rest of the costume Smile . I grew my beard out for 3 weeks (started right after ConNooga) and shaved it down the day of the wedding. Mrs jedimika (and some of the other ladies) thought they looked cute so I left them for the weekend before shaving them off for work this morning.
