That's pretty clever. But they ruined it at the end by having her wear the backward robe as the dress! Razz

Yeah that robe is rather bad. You can buy bun wrappers (I can't remember the real name of them) that grab the ends of your hair inbetween the 2 sides and wrap up the same way then just clip together and hold together really tightly. They won't be damaged by the hair spray and come in different natural colors and thicknesses. Maybe a little more expensive than socks but they don't require pins at all and keep a really tight hold on your hair. You can get through an hour intense dance class with one in and it doesn't move at all. I had never thought of using them for this but since I always clip mine on the bottom it would make spreading the hair out a bit smoother - and not pinch your ears as much.

It is a neat way BUT the problem is those buns are not larger enough. Leia's buns were fairly large and really did cover her ears. Note the hair net you can see in this pic and also the middle of the bun is solid so it looks like hair extensions wrapped around a smaller bun.

I haven't completed them yet, but what I'm doing is making little buckram "bowls" and I'll glue hair extensions onto them. That way, the buns will always stay "perfect" and I don't have to style my hair every time, I just have to pin the buns in place over my own hair.
