I have a real quick question about the Obi wan's light saber.

I am planning on applying as Episode 3 Obi wan but I am unsure of the lightsaber.

I am torn between getting the MR/Hfx saber and converting it to Luxeon or building one from MHS parts.

for the lightsaber of a face character how accurate does it have to be?

The MR/Hfx is oddly proportioned with is "fat neck", but a the closest I can currently get to the "grenade section" of the saber with MHS parts is this http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Ribbed-Choke-Combo-P520.aspx

Would a Saber with that MHS ribbed section be allowable or would i need to have the grooves machined in?

thats the thing I really dont like the loose of the eFX or MR sabers with the fat neck, plus i think the MHS saber would be sturdier

I agree. but you just asked if it would be acceptable for E3 Obiwan. If you want to go for that neck more power to you. and i htink that would be ok as well.

It doesn't matter if you get the FX or MR hilt. You just need the EP 3 hilt to be formal EP 3 OWK.

I worked up this diagram earlier would it be acceptable or is too out of spec?

obviously it doesnt have all the details but you get the main idea.

I would prefer to build my own saber from MHS parts

Parks won't do replicas advertised on his site.

If the color is there and such then it should be fine.
