I have been working on a Tusken Raider Rifle for my prop collection and thought I would share with what I came up with. As I was building this piece I came to realize that no two rifles were the same according to all the reference images I was using. So I made some artistic decisions and well anyways take a look and tell me what you think.

Yo can view how I made this along with pictures on my site http://djsyczylo.net/replicas/StarWars/TuskenRifle/TRrifle.htm

That looks really good. Are you going to weather it?

very nice and shiney drag it through the dirt and sand Razz

i think 'some artistic decisions' are ok considering the nature of the character, finding things and adapting them to suit their needs

It has been weathered a little bit. With the flash on the camera it made it look all shinny. If I do a Tusken Raider outfit I will weather it more to match the outfit.

Nice rifle. I enjoyed looking at your build pics.

It always bugs me when I don't see some kind of trigger or firing stud on rifles that people build. How are you supposed to activate one?

For the rifle I wanted to put a trigger on it but from most of the reference photos I have do not show a trigger. Plus I would take a guess for trooping it would get in the way. Want to be able to have a firm grip on this thing.
How knows it may bug me enough to where I will put some sort of trigger on it.

I do have a Tusken head that I made.

See more at http://djsyczylo.net/replicas/StarWars/TuskenHelm/TRhelm.htm

So I guess I am partially on a way to making a full Tusken Raider outfit.

with gloves on a trigger would just be a pain, especially if you have to keep hold of the rifle or move your hand around the trigger guard, not even gary kurtz noticed Wink

Sorry to disagree, but...I disagree! I've got a trigger & guard on my rifle & personally I find that it gives a little support if you want to hold the rifle verticle with one hand. That's just me though.

As you can see in these two shots, trigger & guard...I'm yet to find that the trigger gets in the way at all, even with my gloves on - which are thick cotton work gloves BTW. I know everyone is different, & to some folk a trigger would be annoying, I'm just glad I put one in!

Anyhoo, as stated, this is just my thoughts on the issue! Your rifle looks fine the way it is! Smile

G-edi out.

Glad everyone likes my rifle. I have been stressing out on the details. I like to get as accurate as I can but this one was hard to do so. I am just glad that everyone agrees that it looks like a Tusken rifle.

If I put the rifle on display I will be adding a trigger. But for now I think I am going to leave it be.

Very cool rifles! I hope to get one made to add to my costume. I am going to start on a new bucket soon so I can have a more fierce look as opposed to the surprised one I have now.

What are the differences between the Tusken rifle and the one Luke has attached to his landspeeder?
