Hi everyone! i've been the whole year doing my research on the costume and following some of the build threads around the forum (specially defyitall's one which is outstanding! thanks! it really helped!) and now i'm almost done with exams and so on i'm going to finish it up. I still have some doubts about the costume and i'm sure with your help i'll get to solve them.

First of all, i'm going with the "realistic" looking armor... this means the armor will be that of a regular clone trooper from the films rather than the animated version but i'll keep the elbow parts attatched to the forearm and the biceps will have the gap for the elbow to fit in so it sticks to the legion standards. The chest will look like the 3d character as there is no other reference. My armor is half way built by a friend in thick fiberglass so i won't be able to post any pics until he's done with it but i guess that's about 2-3 weeks away.

So far i have the bottom part of the undersuit (tights) and i'll be getting a tight t-shirt soon (i'm wearing a regular t-shirt on the pics) and the robes which are waiting to be fitted once i get the armor.

The belt is my next goal and here is my first major question. Because the standards don't really specify...will the ROTS belt (with the appropriate belt pouch arrangement) be accepted as formal? or should I build one which resembles the one on the show? I mean, the ROTS one has the silver snaps and a different buckle but it would fit better with the realistic look and i can change the pouches so they match the animated character... i'll take any opinion on the matter! maybe some LCJ can help. I really don't mind doing one or the other but i'd like to get it right the first time!

I'll deal with the boots a little further on, but i guess regular clone boots with the strap on top will be ok.

Here's a little pic of the current status... (I'm the one on the right by the way Mr. Green)

Checklist:

1. Clone white armor. (Done but needs to stay in place)
2. Jedi white chest armor. (Done but needs a little fitting)
3. Tan sleeveless outer tunic. (Done)
4. Single tabbard extending down from the waist. (Done)
5. Dark brown obi. (Done)
6. Black undersuit. (In Progress)
7. Black gloves.(Done)
8. Brown leather belt.(In Progress)
9. 2 tall brown leather pouches.(Pending)

Formal Requirements:

1. Brown hooded cape. (Will be done in the future)
2. Obi-Wan's ROTS lightsaber hilt.(Done)
3. Obi-Wan's hair and beard style.(Done)
4. Optional formal requirement: knees attached to armor (Done)

Thanks for your help!

You may consider making the top part of your vest a bit tighter. There's a lot of space between your black shirt and the tan vest.

Indeed I need to tighten up the tan vest, but that's ok because it's not sewn together yet, it's simply sewn in place to chech for faults! thanks to everyone for your hints!

Diego, algún dia me registraré en Crazy Old Wizards pero ando sin nada de tiempo! sorry! jaja prometo meterme en breve!

Here is a little update on the tunic (now correctly tightened) and the belt and obi. Looking forward to getting my armor finished (only the chest piece to finish) and to correct minor flaws on the adjustment of the belt which makes the back part of the tunic untight and details such as belt buckle and pouches.

Overall View. The tunic is split in two pieces sewn together at the waist so the seem can be covered by the belt and obi. This allows me to have a seemless tunic as the one in the show because each part can be tightened individually and the "skirt" has a closer look to the one on the show whilst making it a one piece looks a little stiff in my opinion.

You can see hoy the back of the tunic is "pushed out" by the belt

looking similar already huh? ^_^

My friend is doing an awesome job on the fiberglass and if any of you want to se a real piece of art you should check out his scratch built clone trooper armor
