To celebrate the release of the Lego SW encyclopedia there will be 2 events in the Atlanta area on 10/10/09.

LEGO Store Laurenceville, GA
Borders Marietta, GA

There will be 1 RL character and 4 troopers/Vader/clones. RL characters include pilots, Jedi, rebel troopers, and face characters (only if you strongly resemble the character.) So Chris, I'm sorry but you can't wear your Slave Leia costume. Razz I'd like to keep it to movie cannon characters (i.e. easily identifiable by the general public.)

Please post if you might be interested, more details will be coming in closer to the event.

I live near that mall (Discover Mills) in Lawrenceville with the Lego Store. There is a lifesize (I mean 7 feet tall) Vader made completely of Legos (except for the saber "blade") that even has the creepy breathing... it's pretty cool.

I had my pic made with it Halloween 2007 ... it's not a great pic [obviously!], but you get the idea.

They have since moved the Vader from the window to the store entry way where you can actually stand next to it, I mean "him". And the store itself is a lot of fun. Very Happy

[P.S. I'll say I'm interested but if it works better for someone else, I'm flexible. Personally, if there's only one RL and they want Jedi, I think it's better to have a guy if possible.]

I would like to request being our representative at the Downtown Disney Store as I live in Orlando and have several costume that would work. Jedi, Rebel Pilot and Ep II Clone. I have a VERY personal reason for wanting to do this event and for those that know the story of my son and his love of Star Wars Lego projects when he was in the hospital know why this is very personal. This event would mean the world to me as a way of honoring his memory with the Legion. I would not let the Legion or Ra Kura Base down.

I don't see why they can't have two Rebels there instead of just one. Rolling Eyes It's not fun being the only Rebel at events.....

Not sure why you posted on the Bespin forums for this. This is just for the stores in Atlanta.

I hope you are able to troop the store in Orlando. Very Happy

I may be able to do the one in Marietta since that is close to me. I can't say for sure currently so if someone can let them have it.

I also agree that only allowing one is a little odd.

What about Tusken, they're neither. Other than being called a mummy and an ewok in columbus, they'er on the legos game as well. Tuskin If they're not doin EU , I also have Nihilus now if they were doin characters from video games. I can do either event.

Hmmm, I think they are looking for one recognizable "good guy" and unfortunately the Tusken really doesn't fit the bill.

Let's stick with Jedi, Pilots, RFTs, Endor troopers---Rebel characters easily recognized by the general public as "good guys".

We still have a couple of months to work out the details.

Well, if I can't do the costume event, I would still like to go to one of these as a 1st time handler. Either or will be good with me. Wink

If I've relocated to GA by the time of these events, I'd gladly go as RotJ Luke Skywalker.

I am down for coming to the Discover Mills one as well (have posted such on the 501st forum but don't know if Kris has registered me yet). So, Daph, there will be 2 from Rebel Legion.....but we do have different costumes. So, I will be the Jedi and you as Leia?.

Beth, let me know if this is confirmed or I will call Kris and make sure. Should be ok since we're different characters.
Thanks, Susan

I probably won't go as Leia. They want face characters who strongly resemble that character, and I don't think I resemble her that strongly. So, I'll probably do some other character like a handmaiden or RFT (if I get my helmet back.......Beth..... Wink Laughing ).

Helmet back? I thought you had your helmet? I thought Hal had gotten it from Richard after the Gator Bowl parade.

Hal's probably using it for a salad bowl.
