That's exactly what I said earlier. Both colors are canon. We were just having a discussion on how we determined the color we chose. No offense to anyone.....We are all on the same team...... Mr. Green

Thank you, Jon.

The "white versus gray" debate is over. Both colors are acceptable.

Sunrider's RFTs were done as a group (20+ people) and that is the color we decided on so we would all look alike. What another base does is up to them.

And please don't use the "elitist" label; different people go for different levels of accuracy and we all see slightly different things. Just go look at the "tan versus gray" debate for Rebel Techs. Rolling Eyes

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

lol.....

the debate that will never die...

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

one last time...

you can look at screen captures....and photos.....and etchings until hell freezes over...
and...
you will never REALLY know what color you are actually seeing...

You HAVE to see the item in person...or ask someone who wore it in the original movie....

and ...
as I have heard...
none of the RFT helmets exist in the Lucasfilm archives...
nor have they ever been seen in any Star Wars exhibit...

and to reinforce our acceptance of either...as per your CO and XO

Donna's is gray
Mine is white

Wink

No I do use the "elitist" label cause most people think they are better then others cause they spent a ton of money or did some kind of mod to look better than others.....And then to top it off, I don't like seeing others get their noses rubbed in it.

Tan or Grey? Could have been both! Maybe the colors signified your job.....Tan in the hanger for ship maintence or support, Grey for weapons/gear/and what else have you....Who knows!

Until somebody can cough up proof or an actual helmet or with several confirms that they are a light "Grey", I will not believe it. If they are "Grey", there's a reason so there won't be much glare. I learned to do things like that from going to film school for a year.

What I do not understand is how are these visors made to go up and down in the first place?

No one has found a way for them to that. Right now people have two helmets - one with the visor up and one with the visor down.

Or, in the case of Studio Replicas...it is one helmet...

and you have to undo the fasteners to either have the visor secured in the up position...or the down...

The best idea I have heard for making the visor movable would be to have it revolve around a bolt mounted near the middle of the front edge and use magnets instead of rivets at the corners.
I have yet to see anyone try it, though ...
And then there is the problem of the white part underneath the visor in the up position, which is over the visor in the down position. Perhaps it could be divided into two, where the upper part slides down to cover the visor's top edge? Confused
