I have decided to start working on a new costume - Visas Marr, from KOTOR II.

So far, I haven't got that much of it done, but what little I do have has been very well documented Smile
I've had a lot of (invaluable) help from my dear friend Lora Skywalker on this project - thank you Very Happy

First we made a trial version of the head piece from some cheap, leftover fabric, since I didn't want to use the more expensive actual fabric.

Then we moved on to the actual fabric:

It's only held together by needles at this point

After that we started working on the black dress.
Unfortunately we only had time to cut it and try it with needles in, before I had to go home.
It will consist of an upper part made from a shirt pattern which will then be connected to a high-waist skirt - and the seam will be hidden beneath the sash/obi.

Then we tried with the head piece, just to see the effect:

The headpiece may sit a little weird, but that's because it's not yet secured in any way - and that fabric is very soft, making it slide around my head if I don't keep completely still.

I've also started working on the red skirt that goes beneath the black one - haven't got any pics of that yet, though.

This is what's done so far.
Will hopefully get to work on it more soon Smile

Wow, excellent design process. I really like seeing the steps involved, as I can relate to my own projects. It's going to be fantastic.

You should post this at theflagshipeclipse forums too.

Camilla that's great! If you are going to have a new costume the next time we meet, I need to start working on one as well.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it live.

I've always wanted to make this costume.

Yours looks fantastic so far! What type of fabric are you using for the headpiece? It looks like a crepe back satin.. Which are always fun when it comes to slipping and sliding

How are you going to apply the pinwheel pattern on the outer shell out of curiosity?

Awesome! Is it going to be a totally custom design or based off of the KOTOR saber? It's gonna look awesome either way, just curious.
