Ok, well, I'm trying to get together a generic O.R Jedi cotume together.
And I was wondering, as abit of a custom touch, could I have a blaster?
I know for N.R. they have blasters as formal. But I think my costume fits better in the O.R category.
Just wondering if I could add a blaster and it still be a formal O.R. Jedi

Oh, and while I'm asking things.
Anyone know of a good way to come up with a Jedi name??
I have no idea what I want to be called, whenever my costume is finished...

According to Old Republic standards, a blaster is not even on the list. I would just say get your formal stuff together and submit your costume and have it approved as a formal costume. After that, take a blaster to events and have fun if you want!

But remember, what makes a jedi cool is the fact that he/she wields a lightsaber and has no need of a blaster... Laughing

Yeah, That's true.
But, when ever I have wrote a story, or done an rpg, I always have a blaster, and a saber.
idk, just, my own internal conflict between the 2, manifesting itself i guess.
The realitive safety of shooting from a distance, and the elogence, etc, of the sword.

from what i've read, a blaster would not be acceptable as OR Jedi.

as for a name, the "standard" formula is

First name
first 3 letters of last name
first 2 letters of first name

Last name
first 2 letters of mother's maiden name
first 3 letters of city of birth

Using that formula resuts in Warke Halon for me.
I kept the Halon, and then played around with different pronunciations and spellings for the first til I came up with Arkai

and for the record, it's prounounced R-K Hay-Lon

that formula just doesn't work well for me: Beabr Kastl....yeah, no thanks.
Althouh, I suppose if the first word of the city is spelled out rather than using the initials it would be Beabr Kasai which is better...

Or, you can do like I did and just make up a name! My Dad tried to get me to just reverse my name, but that was just too silly and obvious. Besides, now that I'm married my last name would be Egnaro... Razz yuck!

My Star Wars name would be Delal Debro. I sort of like it and I could get used to it, but I have never done anything with it..

besides, I have been Charybdis for so long now online that I would never change from it!
