I have 3 Endor Vest patterns for sale. Please see the Sale/Trade forum to purchase it. The sizing is L/XL but it's pretty easy to convert it to a smaller or larger size.

Nuts - I cant find the 'for sale thread' anywhere?! RL members only?

In any case, I'm interested in making a vest (after reading your tutorial-thanks!)

Is there an RL-accepted design/pattern from which to work from?

Material-wise, would a poly/cotton blend (such as that found twill BDU's) work?

I guess colourwise, a shade darker than the BDU-Tan would be better?

Cheers - Kim

The thread is gone because I sold those three. But I can make more copies of the pattern. PM me if you want one.

A poly/cotton blend is good, the tutorial is for a shirt-weight fabric. For a heavier fabric (suit-weight) you would not do the "lining"; just use the facing pieces of the pattern.

What type of material is used for the vest? Is it the same as the Helmet, Khaki Trigger Poplin or something heavier. Does this need to be dyed?

I would suggest a pant-weight fabric; like the poplin or trigger. Lesley used a lot of duck cloth for helmets/gaiters but I think it would be too heavy for the vest. Nothing should be dyed, although several Sunrider members used chalk to line the seams and padded shoulder to give it a "dirty" look.

If you use a medium-weight fabric, follow the instructions in the tutorial; otherwise use the facings as you would on any other jacket/vest pattern.

Hope that helps. Smile

I used a standard bottom weight twill....
Joanne's Fabrics always seems to have it in stock in both light and dark khaki color..

and they usually also have the Trigger..
I avoided the Trigger myself because if I remember correctly...Trigger is cotton and polyester...
and I wanted to stay with 100% cotton.....which the bottomweight twill was 100% cotton..

but all choices mentioned are good...

It's hard sometimes to determine whether color or fabric should be the deciding factor. I went with the lighter weight material for the Sunrider Endor Troopers because it was a close color; I just "doubled-up" on the fabric to make it heavier.
