Hello, for a while now I have been "working" on a costume for the jedi Atris from the Knights of the Old Republic II videogame. I say "working" since I wasn't really doing anything else on it since life got in the way for a while. Happy to say I have since started and I believe it is going well. Since there aren't very many reference pictures and even fewer people have done this costume it has been a challenge.

This is my first costume and I am already running into some issues but I believe that I am still doing well. Currently I am working on it diligently. I will post pictures as I take them and perhaps as it gets a little further along. Right now it isn't much to see.

Alright speaking of posting pictures I was going to post a screen shot of her from the game but I can't figure out how to put a picture on here...any help?

You need to upload your pictures to a photo hosting site like Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) and then use the IMG link to show a photo in your post.

I just got the boots I ordered in today. They are just plain white boots. I was worried about the fit but with socks they fit great. I have never ordered shoes online before so it was an interesting experience. I'm really happy they worked out so well.

I'll be interested to see how your costume comes along. I've had the idea of doing Atris for a while now, but as you said, life has gotten in the way. I'm finally ready to get the ball rolling on a new costume however, so this is my next project. Maybe we can help each other along!

Good luck! Ben

If you need help making the costume, I have a short tutorial....
Atris is much like Jocasta Nu, except white fabric. See my tutorial on making Jocasta Nu:

Oooooooo!

I always liked that character in the game. Besides being very beautifully rendered, her "romance" backstory with a male Exile seemed more realistical for Star Wars (read Anxty).

Thank you for all the help! Arcana and I are most impressed by your work on Jocasta Nu. These links will be invaluable to me!

PostPosted: Mon Aug 18, 2008 3:52 am    Post subject: Finally got it all together Reply with quote

So I finally got my costume all together. I went with my boyfriend to see Star Wars: Clone Wars at midnight in Appleton, WI. It was fun but there was only about twenty people in the theater. I had a few issues with my costume however. I need to put some velcro or snaps or something to keep my tabbards in place where they should be. I've actually been thinking about adding frogs to the belt over the hook and eyes simply for aesthetic reasons. I'm sort of debating if I should or not since I would doubt that they are in the game like that.

The wig I was having some issues with in the pictures but I feel pretty good about how everything turned out considering earlier that day I had to have eight stitches put into my arm. I want to cut the front of the wig so that the hair hanging down in the front isn't so long as well.

Still some tweaking to do but I think for my first effort in all of this I'm very happy.

I'll try and post some pictures showing more detail later but for now these pictures will have to do. I think they show a good amount.

Once you get the wig issue fixed, it should be fine.

I would suggest some sort of stocking type thing, or whatever people wear over their hair and under a wig to keep your hair back. It does not look good with your brown hair sticking out all over from under the wig.

yeah I understand that it didn't look the best. I had made myself sort of a stocking thing that you were talking about by cutting up some old pantyhose but they were black as well. I'm thinking of either getting a professional one or remaking one with some white tights since the one I made did the job decently. I was only working with one hand though so I was fairly proud of my accomplishment. Today is the first day I have been able to lift my right hand up to my hair without feeling like I am pulling at stitches. ^_^

Guess I will have to start googling since a professional one made for wigs would probably work the best out of anything. Also I was thinking of looking into getting a better wig. The one I have currently is just a Halloween wig from a costume store but it gets really tangled very quickly.

Costume looks very good. Once you resolve the wig issue, you'll be set!

I think your prgress is great. Great work. Let us all know how the hand is doing and how the wig trim turns out.
