I fell in love with the wampa head patch! It might be hard to get some text in it

You may add above it a "tab", like that.

British army used something similar as "shoulder title" for unit name and/or nationality of the Free Forces (Look at the film "The Longest DAy": french commandos assaulting the casino has the title "french" on their shoulders)

EDIT: just to keep up the theme "too many ideas = no ideas"
And what about the Darth lars' diamond shape with flags corners, and in the middle a Wampa roaring like the lion ofr the M.G.M. Metro Goldwin Meyer?

Here's an idea I worked up using your flags base. Obviously it needs some text but I need some help with that since my photoshop skills aren't the best Smile

Unfortunately, a snowspeeder motif has already been chosen by Echo Base, which was one of the very first bases to form, Confused

Is there anyone who knows someone who is good at drawing, who could draw a wampa?
Many years ago, I used to know two quite talented pencil artists, but it has been quite a while since I lost touch with them.

I definitely think the flag idea is great, we just need to fill the circle with something. It also shouldn't be too complicated, a simple drawing might be better if we want to be able to use the logo for everything.

How about putting the Wampa in the middle then?

A wampa in the middle was my idea also, but the problem is how to draw a Wampa. Confused

New logo idea: Instead of having a Wampa, have a picture of Luke in his Hoth outfit in a nice pose of him holding his lightsaber lit and ready to cut off the wampa's arm.

I had drawn a sketch but the stupid program crashed on me when I tried to save, so I will have to post the idea as text instead.
Take the promo pic from ESB where he is holding his gun crouching in a pose. Substitute his Bespin clothes with the Hoth outfit, and his blaster with his lightsaber. Insert ice stalagmites wherever there is something that is not interesting, such as his legs, his left arm, etc. The outfit is predominantly white, grey and light brown, so I figured that most of the background should be blue and his face yellow with a red mouth and blue and white eyes .. Overall not too detailed, but cartoonish. For a patch, a few of the colors could be substituted. Grey->white, Tan->yellow, etc.

Alternatively use the pose that the Luke bust in this set has. Although more imposing, I don't think that it fits the wampa cave scene as much.

Here is a more detailed picture of Luke's Hoth outfit.

I kinda like that idea, Johan Smile

I played around a bit with the wampa idea, using a pic I found
(please note, I'm not very good at these things)

It obviously still needs text and such.

The wampa looks a bit stretched, otherwise I think it's the best one so far!

Well, it's made in a program not really suited for it (I haven't got photoshop) and I'm really not any good at such things.
So it's more of a crude example Wink

But thanks Smile

Mr. Mundi (a friend from FanForce and skywalker.dk) send me this suggestion:

The only thing I'm worrying about is if it would be hard to reproduce the photo of the wampa if we want to make patches and more simple graphic stuff.

Maybe I can help. In the book "The Wildlife of Star Wars" are drawings of Wampas. I will send one to Camilla via PM because I don't know if I can post them on the forum because of the copyright. If you change something of the drawing I think you can use it for your new logo. wink2

Considering this seems to be an ongoing discussion I thought I would join in.

So... I kinda like the very first Gina put up and the last. Except I am not much for squares/diamonds. I like circles much more.

Second, I see no reason for why we can't use the nordic flags around the edge like the NG. Just because they did it first doesn't mean they have a right to it. And it would show others that we are sister organizations and do work together.

So, if people are not too unhappy with the round nordic flags, then it could be something like NG's but with a nice blue/orange rebel crest in the middel and a wampa, too. Smile
I don't mind steeling from the NG. Mr. Green

I can't use any kind of vector programs, so I not gonna attempt it. If someone gets my idea feel free to make it of all to see.
