It's probably a Richie's kit, like the other helmets he did are.

Actually none of the helmets I have made are Richie's kits. Two of them are molded from my APH helmet, and one is from a friend's molds.

My friend is trying to unearth those molds, and if there is enough interest I may be able to do a run. These would be down and dirty raw pulls- not quite as complete as a RA kit (you'd have to get your own edging, padding, liner, elastic, etc.). This 'kit' would probably consist of the two halves, styrene strip for mohawk, mohawk end cap, and chin cup.

I think that would be adequate for most people. The other needed parts aren't hard to come by, with the exception of the visor.

Oops- forgot to say that the yellow visor WOULD be included in the kit.

Why did I think those were RA kits? I must have mixed you up with someone else. Embarassed

I'll blame it on the fact that my Base has been working on an X-Wing costuming project this year and we just a group order of RA helmets.

No biggie! Natural assumption since there are so few helmet makers out there; I'd say mine are closer to RA's than anyone else's too.

You have dug up a really old thread, and I'm not sure how often he gets on the forum these days.
There are a few ways that vac-forming moulds can be made, but one of them is by laminating MDF sheet together and carving them to the proper shape to make the moulding forms. This is likely how it was done.

Check out the MDF forms being made on this page:
