Okay guys, I might have royally screwed up here. Sorry, but it looks like Ed is right. According to the RLSC Charter, Article VI, Regulation 4A:

Quote:
• REGULATION 4A – Unit Designation & Crest
Each Squadron must have a unique Unit Designation (Squadron name) in order to apply for Squadron formation. Base Squadron names and logos should fit within provable Star Wars nomenclature and graphical elements. The names of the following Squadron Unit Designations (SUD) are restricted by virtue of use in the Official Star Wars Universe (i.e. movies, published materials, etc.) or previous use by the Rebel Legion: Wraith, Rogue, any squadron name in official SW media, and every name currently in use by existing Base Squadrons and/or Wing/Flights. A SUD will reflect on its members and as such should be chosen only by the pilots that make up the Squadron. Voting for a Unit Designation will be limited to those Base members who own a Pilot costume.

As some of the other recent Squadrons have been forming, their pilots have chosen to also allow those Base Members currently/actively working on a pilot costume the right to vote as well since it would directly impact them in a short period of time.

As I said, I'm really sorry and fully accept responsibility for this mix-up. You were only acting on my advice and unfortunately my memory was a tad addled when I gave it. Crying or Very sad

OK OK. It looks like we might need to redo this vote if it is pilots only (including people who are well on the way to becoming a pilot)

The list of every pilot in the Canadian Base is already in the name discussion thread.

Can somebody compare the list of names I posted in the other thread against the votes and tell me how badly things are off? Should we just restart the poll or can this one be salvaged?

I don't think we need to start completely over though, the two final names did seem to be the most popular, so I suggest we keep the name choices the same.

I can always remove the non pilots its no biggy.

Though really with our own base membership being low and our active pilots as well...I still have no issue with us allowing base membership to vote.

So pilots to be are also allowed to vote then as well?

From what I understand, pilots to be, within reason.

Somebody thinking they might do a pilot costume wouldn't count.

Somebody with a helmet, jumpsuit, working on a flak vest, etc., would be. Minimum of 50% completion sounds about right?

Can we get a ruling from Starfighter Command on what constitutes a "close enough" pilot to count doe the purposes of this vote?

I'm going to say maybe approx. 75%. Close enough? Any objections?

75%. Close enough. AND ACTIVELY WORKING ON IT!

(having bought pieces 5 years ago and never completed them shouldn't give the right to vote)

I think we'd have to as I think the only 75% (whatever that means) Pilots can vote then we can have them vote.

Stephanie and my costumes will not meet the 75% at all.

Bit conflicted on this all as I do not see why as a base we cannot vote if we decide to?

Justin, that is the advantage of having the completed (or mostly completed) Pilot costume...

You get to vote on the name and have a say when the squadron forms officially. How far are you from getting done?

Part of the fun of having a base is working on things together Wink

We have the helmets on order, but the suits have to wait due to the pregnancy and getting the size for her correct...waiting to work with Grey Star on the chest boxes and then its just boots and gloves etc
