It has come to my attention, that some members are not familiar with our charter and how to appeal a costume decline.
On the denial email it states that if you would like to appeal an costume denial, because you feel your costume was not judged fairly, you are to write to the Legion Membership Officer at email@example.com. At that point, the Legion Membership Officer would look into the situation. Please be sure to follow this procedure.
As stated in the charter:
If the LCR either denies a costume or classifies it as Informal (and not Formal) they will also provide list of missing items/explanation why to the applicant, as well as name of the LCR that made the judgment.
If an applicant wishes to appeal a denial or classification of Informal, they should send email to The Legion Membership Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Legion Membership Officer has final say over approvals and appeals.
All appeals must be acknowledged within 10 days and a ruling made within 20 days
This is the proper procedure on how to appeal a costume denial. Please do not post an appeal on the forums, as that is the incorrect way to go about it.
