OMG... something from the Clone Wars era that doesn't focus on the troopers, Sith, or Mandolorians...
it's about time! |

I think it's not so much the evolution as it is the same vehicle. I remember reading somewhere that Rebellion-era Y-Wings are so prone to needing maintenance that they started just leaving off the parts of the hull that they needed to access most. If you look at the Clone Wars Y-Wing, it looks (to me, anyway) like it's the same vehicle, just with added hull plating.
It's kinda like me changing the oil on my truck. To change the oil, I have to take off the skid plate, which is such a pain in the butt that I just left it off for a while. _________________

You're right, Ed, it does look like the Y-Wing we all know but with extra hull plating. Could this mean someone out there is looking at EU continuity? ::GASP:: _________________

Surely you gest. Continuity has never been a problem in the Star Wars universe. |

Personally, I've always like the ole Y-Wing... seeing this pic just amped that up a notch or two more...
Makes me wonder what the pilot designs are gonna look like... _________________ Cam R'Mala / DZ-7321 are my heroes...

I wonder if we'll see the brand new space superiority fighter, the Z-95 Headhunter? _________________

Holy Frak (sorry non-BSg fans, I just had to curse and didn't want to get in trouble)!!!!!!
BTW, How slow and sluggish is the Clone Wars era Y-wing?!
Forget about always seeing Sith, Mando and troopers... I am so beyond tired of Jedi this and that.
I have always held that the X-wing flight suits (and most Rebel gear) were "military surplus" from the Clone Wars era.
Now, if only we can resolve the A-wing continuity problems.
Volund... no we won't, at least not the way you said it, "new". To paraphrase the Han Solo novel in which the Z-95 first appeared, the Headhunter was a museum piece when the Clone Wars occured. _________________ _______________________________________

If only this were Star Trek where they could rewrite history... well, I guess I'll just have to slug through that wonderful continuity.
btw, thanks for the info about the Z-95... even my geekdom has its bounds _________________

I've always been a fan of the Z-95. I myself was disappointed that the Headhunter was never seen in the prequels.
But then again, I didn't read any of the prequel era novels and only a few of the Clone Wars comics. _________________ _______________________________________

I remember reading this too, and the SW Databank has a picture of the Y-Wing with the plates intact.
This design is very similar and could be the same ship with some add ons. I am looking forward to seeing what the pilots will be wearing to fly this ship. _________________ There is NO Orange Mafia |
