So that's why they charged me for the nylon and didn't send it. Rolling Eyes
I'll have to give them a call and tell them to just send the other stuff (and give me the difference in price).
Annoying.

Just a suggestion, and don't take this the wrong way, but can we leave politics out of the message boards. If I wanted political sattire, I would go to one of those political message boards. I come here to glean information about the costumes of Star Wars, not people's opinions on global events.

Thanks.

I wasn't trying to be a "party pooper" or anything. And I certainly wasn't too offended. I just think it is best to leave politics out of the costuming boards. Just my personal opinion, of course. But thanks for the understanding...

I would have been tempted to take you up on that offer but I have just ordered the straps and buckle.
I'm no seamstress but hopefully I can put it together ok.

One inch usually. You can get that at most retail fabric places fairly easily.

The straps an buckle arrived yesterday Smile
I've got a good start on the ejection straps, just need to attach the long center piece.
I think it will be best to wait until the coveralls and flak vest are here before I do that.

I'm wanting to start the belt next.
Looking over the pic provide by Jedi Shadowchaser (thank you) it looks like the strap just gets pulled through the buckle?
Confused
Is that correct? Is the buckle sewn on at all?

Thanks!

It's actually supposed to be sewn on, but I didn't do that with mine.

Did you ever go look at the other thread I linked to on the first page of this thread? Probably not, if you are asking, since there are a couple of pics of other people's belts where the buckle is sewn on.

Ok, Thanks!
I did _read_the post you recommended. Razz
We are on a 26k dial-up connection (only connection available out here) so I turn off things like pictures, signatures and avatars when reading forums.

I did take the time to go back and view some of the photos in that post though.

After trying it both ways I can see that if the buckle is sewn on then the belt will not stay tight for me.
However, for the sake accuracy I may add some velcro and go that route.

Thanks
Smile

I'm not sewing my buckle on because of that same fact that it will not stay tight by itself. That's not how the actual cargo strap buckles are designed to be used.

Plus, I'm am considering doing an X-Wing tech, and that way, I can use the same buckle and not have to buy another one for the olive drab belt that they wear. Wink

Wow, I didn't know there was such a thing as only a 26K internet connection these days. Shocked Where do you live?

I love my DSL.
