Hi all,

Another newbie question here.
Can a Rebel Pilot costume include a holster with gun?
I don't see anything in the standards but have seen some member photos that include a holster with gun.

If it is allowed what is the best type to go with?
Something like a Han Solo holster and gun or maybe a Rebel Trooper gun?

Hope I'm not being too bothersome with the questions.
I just want to make sure I get everything right.

Thanks,

Certainly. If you look at pics you'll see lots of pilots with blasters. I have a resin copy of the Luke ESB blaster that was painted by Reaper Ed. I wear it. Don't be afraid to ask questions. It's a good way to get answers. Hope that helps Smile

I believe there was some discussion about that in this thread.

Apparently, you need it to be on a separate belt, though. That's what I was told. Look at Luke on Degobah when he exits the X-Wing. He's wearing a DL-44 on his hip which is on a separate belt. It's also tied down to his leg.

There were also a few pics of pilots with their pistol belts on in both the Rebel Assault II briefing and one or two in the final briefing aboard Home One in ROTJ.

The official RLSC word on the gunbelt is ... it's cool. Cool

The grey pilot belt is required for approval (just one reason is that there are events that won't allow weapons), but a lot of us add the leather gunbelt later. Depending on your body style, at events you can either wear it in addition to the grey belt or in place of it. Go with whichever looks best on you.

As for the weapon of choice ... the Han/Luke ESB blaster (DL-44), the Rebel Fleet Trooper Blaster (DL-17), Stormtrooper blaster (E-11) and various custom jobs have all been used to date. Even an occasional BFG! And all are currently acceptable. Very Happy

Well the BFG was my first choice, but Stacy and Clinton said I couldn't pull off that look as well as you Jon. ROTF

The only ones I have ever seen were Mauser variants. Han's, Luke's, and even a Power-5 on the hip of one of the pilots in the Endor briefing.

You're kidding me, right? A pilot with a BFG? That doesn't make any sense at all. The only reason a pilot would have any kind of arms whatsoever would be for survival in the event that he/she is shot down. This is why it makes sense that pilots would be toting smaller pistols for ease of convenience and the space available in their cockpits. How in the universe would a BFG fit in a cockpit???

Besides...it's not the size of the blaster...it's how you use it Wink

C'mon, doesn't anyone else strap a BFG on top of his astromech? Surprised

As for storage space in a ship, 2 options really: 1) that large cargo hold at the bottom of the X-wing that Luke kept all those big crates in that he unloaded on Dagobah, and 2) the back seat of my 2-seater Y-Wing! Razz (If I'm gonna be shot down, I'm gonna be prepared.)

But in all seriousness the BFGs are fairly rare. I've only seen maybe 2 or 3 pilots in the whole Legion ever touting them. But when you got a pilot like Gregor (Hazard Seven) topping the charts at well over 6ft., well the pistols tend to look like little cap guns in his fists. In his case, the BFG looks more proportional.

Well, if you are going for something to both intimidate and blow holes in large objects... just go bowcaster!
