Not sure if you or Eva have this already, Kathy, but here's a shot of Mark's original flight suit from ANH that was sold at auction:

Cool! And yet, I cringe to think of how much that must have auctioned off for!

I just posted to Dewback to add my order for the belt buckle. I need to get confirmation info regarding the paypal address, though.

I have a roll of the grey strap, ordered it awhile back if anyone is interested. There might be enough for 2 or 3 costumes. My cylinders came from Kenny, Elvis trooper.

I am in need of these accessories as well but my experience with these orders is negative. I pay for items which I never receive from these people. I would much rather preffer to buy them on the spot. Last year ,I have ordered from Rebel Legion and never got my orders. I ordered the tshirts and maybe christmas ornaments, cannot remember. I have to go through paypal to figure out whom I have paid. So, if anyone is ordering could you please add another order for me and I will compensate you when I get the merchandise? I am waiting for Richie to send me the helmets to get started on the rest of the costume.
Matt, I already have the pic of the suit, thanks. I will be putting it together as soon as I get fabric. The pattern has been drafted last year.

Eva, Rebel Legion merchandise is totally different than ordering items from costume/props vendors. (We don't want to give anyone a bad rap here). I do want to say that for the record, I have always gotten the items I've ordered from Pappy through dewback wing. He is very reliable. As a matter of fact, knock on wood, I have always gotten every costume parts item I've ever ordered through various clubs.

If you have not received a Rebel Legion merchandise item please check in at the merchandise forum in the thread you have placed your order. Ask the person organizing the order for the status on your item if they have already stated that all items have been shipped (make sure you read the thread before bothering them, some orders take a long time to fill before the item is manufactured). In some cases, like with the Concert T-shirt you ordered, they were just shipped to the organizer this week and he will start shipping the shirts very soon. You ordered gray, the manufacturer messed up and you will first get a white shirt, then a gray replacement at a later date (two shirts for the price of one due to their error).

I checked every page of the Rebel Legion ornament thread. You never signed up for that. If you feel you signed up and actually paid for a 501st ornament you need to check those forums and follow up with the person organizing that order.

It took me a while, but I finally found a bolt of Orange Cotton Twill that is pretty close to the original color. I was hoping to get a perfect pantone match (yeah, I jotted down the pantone color at the FIDM exhibit). However, just finding any orange cotton twill that was not pastel melon was more challenging than I expected!

I'd say this has more red in it than the original film used twill, but not as much red as the Dickies jumpsuits some use. So, it's a happy medium.

SiaLan Wezz (eva) was nice enough to buy the entire bolt for our base to use. So if anyone is interested in buying the fabric from her and matching what she, Alison, and I are making feel free to contact her.

Kay_Dee

Give Jason (Volund Starfire) a holler. He's done a lot of research for that pilot party that we are having up here in Oregon. He can point you in the right direction for a lot of the other parts that you will be needing.

If anyone has the means, we would love to have more people show up for the pilot project up here. Hit Jason up for more details.

Oh, I already finished my pilot costume! I don't need any help but wanted to provide a place for our own base members to continue discussion. I can offer lots of advise too since I now know the ins and outs of this costume pretty well - I figured I could offer local advise and help for our member here as well. We have the bolt of orange fabric in case people are crazy like me and want to make a jumpsuit from scratch with the screen accurate seaming.

I had thought about having a flightsuit made from scratch, but the CB XL-sized flightsuits will fit me just fine. Someday, I will get it done..... (famous last words)

Just need to finish my custom mando. I'm almost there...

I am a pilot and am updating my outfit at the moment, but does that count in the numbers as being able to be in the squadron?

Sorry, I was kind of waiting for Bernard to answer this and just realized your question went unanswered.

Since you currently are a pilot you can be in the Corsair Squadron from what I understand. You just need to go to this thread and post photos of your costume and ask for acceptance to the Starfighter Command Detachment. That will then automatically put you into Corsair Squadron once you are approved to the detachment.

Thanks for Matt for the heads up.

Jedi Micky is doing a very SMALL run of his X-wing Helmets. So if you need a helmet (maybe you need an upgrade from a Rubies? You are working on a new pilot costume?) be sure to contact him via PM and post ASAP since he only has a few extras he's doing.

Hey Shane, you're currently listed as a formal pilot in Endor Base so you should be good for Squadron membership. Just contact Bernie and get him to assign you a number.

Oh, and just for the record. According to the RLSC Charter, technically you don't need to be a member of the RLSC to be in a Squadron. You just need to be a "formal" pilot. (Yeah, it's a loophole, but Ed and I wanted everyone to be able to play.) That said, if you are a formal pilot, please go sign up for the Rebel Legion Starfighter Command. The Rebel Legion's FIRST Detatchment. Wink

The link is in Kay-Dee's post 2 above.

Hey Kathy,
I'm going the way of making my flight suit from scratch too. I want it to fit right, I'm slowly but surely researching all the details of this costume. I've come to realize that if I want a quality costume, it's not going to be cheap; but I think it will be worth it. X-Wing 1
There are VERY FEW REBEL Star Wars costumes that are as easily recognizable as the x-wing pilot, and I'd think it would be fun to be part of the Corsair Squadren. chickpilot
Hope to join the squadren ranks soon!
