Well it's that's time !!!!

So this past weekend I have started to design and sew my generic Jedi. It's been in the talks for sometime now but being a new dad , tattoo artist that travels and well a collector. I finally jumped in head first. Lol being my first time back at sewing in over 10 years lets just say I've poked my self more than once with pinning patterns and my back and butt are sore ....

Ok so I have decided to do a Ki Adi Mundi/Cerean style Jedi. I am doing a dark green sleeveless Ot with hood , A reddish brown inner tunic and Tabs (being I live in st george now I see it fitting) I am trying to decide if I am going to add some lighter green somewhere lol maybe !!!

So this is the color sceme im going for i might do a green apple color for the inner tunic and a lil darker tab (not as dark as the outer tunic though)

Ok on to the fun stuff i am using the simplicity 4450 out of print pattern so I am making my own traced pattern so it is taking longer than i want haha but I cant bring myself to cut up an $80.00 pattern

me starting to lay tracing paper out to copy pattern

back of Robe/outer tunic traced

This is how much different the front pattern is for my outer tunic compared to the robe

This is the back for the OT/Robe

Me coloring fabric

The fabric for the outer tunic and maybe inner tunic

Laying the pattern on and pinning (only after i mad a mock and sewed that and made corrections)

This is the back and front of the outer tunic and I'm going the extra mile and adding a silk fabric to the inside of the OT

Oops I sewed the wrong sides together ( fabric has a front and back to each piece when sewing a backing to your fabric make sure you place front to front haha)

Doing it right this time haha after about 20 mins unpicking the thread

Ok so I got 95% done with the outer tunic tonight having a blast doing this

Front view I still have to work out the flap/snap to keep it closed right (It looks great with a belt I borrowed one of my wife's haha

Side view you cant really tell but the curve sits right at the knee

Back drape looks awesome and the hood sits better but trying to get photos is a lil hard haha

I still have the neck binding to do so the seam doesn't show

According to the Jedi standards, you can use Straps and shin spats if you can't find a Vegan boot that covers the calf. Maybe a vegan hightop shoe and Vinyl straps/spats?
