|
|
|
Hi everyone! I am planning to submit my first costume for approval in the legion as Barriss Offee (Clone Wars) and I was wondering if this is considered an acceptable lightsaber: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FTDH81M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
I am concerned that the hilt design is, for lack of a better term, too plain (it lacks Barris's blade emitter and pummel cap). Is this an acceptable lightsaber hilt? And if not, will it become acceptable if I modify it to include the aforementioned attributes? (I would probably use a thin layer of clay or 2mm EVA foam and silver paint for my modifications). Thanks a million! |

I think noone in sabersmith community would advise you to buy those. Quality, electronics, customer support etc. are below standards - you get, what you paid for, at best. If you calculate the component prices for an fx saber - you'll easily reach 300$, labor not included.
Probably, the best you can tell about this one is - it probably works.
The greebles on the hilt may be challenging, if you do not intend to disassemble and drill through it. My recommendation would be to use metal covertec knobs for those.
Have you checked known sabersmiths? If a model is not perfect, you can usually order extra pommels/emitters. |

For that price range, there are several other more reliable saber makers. Personally, if I was making Barriss, I would look at PachStore, Crimson Sawn Sabers, or SaberTrio, but there are a variety of makers out there who make something suitable and of decent quality. _________________ Caitlin Jacques (she/her/hers)

Thank you so much for the recommendation! Crimson Dawn is having a sale right now and they've got a saber that matches her perfectly! |

You are very welcome! I don't own any sabers from Crimson Dawn yet, but a bunch of Saber Guild folks have been raving about them, and everyone in my Base who has gotten them has been super happy with the result. _________________ Caitlin Jacques (she/her/hers)
