So I am working on a Phase II Cody using the 501st CRL

I went looking to see if there was a equivalent RL CRL to see if I could get dual approval like you can with Rex but I cant find any Cody CRL's at all.

So I am thinking maybe I ended up in the wrong spot, if someone could point me to the right spot that would be amazing, as I'd like to get dual approval if its possible.

So I see no reason why I shouldn't make this my build thread, so this is what I have so far.

I am using files from galactic armory for the helmet, I chose to cut it into 2 sections rather than print it as one so that there was less wastage should a print fail.

I have printed both sections and did a test fit the other night using race tape, it fits so that's good.

Now to start printing all the Cody specific bits.

More Cody Progress,

Undercoated the main bucket and started gluing on some of the cody bits.
I also learnt from my Royal Guard and primed the inside this time so that I don't have to go back and do it later.

All the bits except for the aerator tips and the front antenna are now attached.

I'm thinking of getting the Clone Commander Audio System, which is why the aerators haven't been put on.

I also have managed to break the antenna twice in the process of attaching it, that's never going to work long term so i'm going to upgrade it with some steel to make it more robust.

Next to get my partner to undercoat the lot with plastic primer so I can start filling it.

Finished printing the first non helmet section.

I measured my leg exactly and sized it to fit, i'm pretty sure it fits my calf perfectly.... Except I didn't factor how to get it over my foot which apparently needs a little extra space.... So back to the drawing board to work out how much extra space I need and reprint.

I had a bit of a play with the Version 2 Lower Leg just before Christmas and also thought about a suggestion I got on my local forum to enlarge it enough to fit a thin layer of padding so I have decided to do a Version 3 and give that a try..

Version 2 I increased from 100% to 105% and that allowed me to get my foot through and move in it, if somewhat tight and TBH it was a little to long and binding on my shoes.

Version 3 is going to be a little different, and completely experimental just for the sake of trying it. I'm going upto 120% Xaxis & Yaxis which should allow for a little padding.

That will hopefully help with both comfort and stability because after trying it I can see what my local member was talking about with armour moving being a issue..

Plus as i'm reprinting it anyway to give my shoes a little clearance im dropping the Zaxis to 85% seems i'm a little short for a clone trooper.

In theory if I have got my measurements correct third time lucky it should fit.

Well I had a little break over Christmas, both my printers decided to break, so while they were both out of action I did me some upgrades on them both.
I also got some XTC-3D print smoothing/primer/filler stuff to see how it goes.

I'm old school and have been using car primer/filler so this self leveling goo seems like black magic to me.

With the prints that are currently going I should have the all four calf/shin sections by the end of the week, so that will give me something to try the XTC-3D on.
