I would like to know what diameter the hose for the CZ M60 soft pack needs to be. I am making EA BF1 Desert Trooper and a EA BF2 Tatooine Specialist who use the same softpack as the Endor Trooper. I have seen hoses with a diameter of 19mm, 25mm, 32mm and 38mm diameters but I am not sure which size would be correct. _________________ RIAD GRRRL-Squad-Leader 2019-present

did you ever get an answer to this? I’ve tried looking through the forums and haven’t found much other than “standard shop vac hose” which... still doesn’t say much to me. _________________

No, I never got an answer, so I went ahead and bought a gray 20mm drain hose for a dishwasher. A hose diameter of 25mm would probably also work. In my opinion, anything smaller than 20mm or larger than 25mm would look a little strange and out of place.

I have used leftover tie pilot hose which is 1.25 inch ID , which is 31.75mm. 31 or 32 if you can find it would be similar in size. But the 25mm hose you have looks fine, its what I have on my X wing boxes. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

This is very helpful! Thank you! May I ask how you attached yours to the softpack? It seems simple enough to simply punch holes in the ends and sew them to the pack, but as I've never seen one up close I wasn't sure if that's how it worked. _________________

I'm glad you figured something out! Your kit looks great! Thank you so much for being so specific and helping me, this is my first costume and I am eager to make it look as good as yours! _________________

You are welcome. I always wanted to make an Endor Trooper but the paint for the camouflage is very difficult to get because I am located in Germany. So I made a desert trooper instead since it is basically the same costume just with different colors and a different helmet.
You asked David how he connected his hose to his soft pack. I do not know how he did his but I can tell you how I did mine. The top of my hose goes all the way down to the bottom of the soft pack. It is tied to the white tye string that closes the pack so that it will not come out. The bottom part is fed into the small right pocket. I opened up the seam a little bit and pulled the hose through. I have a thick hair tye around the end of the hose that prevents it from slipping back out. _________________ RIAD GRRRL-Squad-Leader 2019-present

I used 25mm ID/30mm OD spiral wound pond hose, not corrugated. I tuck the loose top end inside the pack and the other end fits onto a brass hose tail poking though a hole on the pocket and clamped onto the pocket fabric using a flange nut.
In theory, it could even carry water. |
