the preferred frame was always the Boy Scouts America BSA backpack frame which is very similar. This is the vintage boy scout frame and I have one in the garage.

I like the specs.

I also need a working backpack for troops during adverse weather conditions. Which are quite common in the DC metro area. Especially during the winter.

Whenever we go back to troop.

Im in South Louisiana. The weathe is either hot and sunny, or pouring rain. I wear my ERT in rain on purpose, and then go tromping through the mud while Im at the troop, and when I leave. My gear has mostly naturual weathering on it.
