Everyone,

first I hope you are all well during these uncertain times we are in.

I am finally looking into putting a General Madine/Rebel General from ROTJ.

As I can't sew to save the galaxy i'm looking for possible people to do the vest/shirt/pants (more Vest if push comes to shove)

I have found 2 options:

Atelier Pucci on Etsy - I've messaged her but have yet to get a response

RetroRevivalProps - I can't see the pocket on the left shoulder so i'm waiting to hear back as well.

Does anyone recommend anyone else to commission this specific costume? i'm leaning more towards Atelier because 1 stop shop for the soft goods.

Just to make sure you have it, we have a collecetion of General Madine resources here:

Including a comprehensive build guide:

A couple of things I noticed about the vendor items you mentioned...

RetroRevivalProps:

My main concern based on what I can see, is that they have constructed the sleeves incorrectly. They should be a cap sleeve rather than a full short sleeve. The sleeve should not extend below the arm, but rather just sit over the top. Not only will the full sleeve possible change the way the shirt sleeve looks, but it may be very uncomfortable and binding.

For anyone interested in learning how to make cap sleeves, here's a nice overview:
https://www.clothingpatterns101.com/cap-sleeve.html

Atelier Pucci:

1. I would request that the pocket on the sleeve be changed slightly. It should be an inverted box pleat- so folded so the pleat goes on the inside rather than sitting on top. It should also be positioned a tad higher on the sleeve.

2. This vendor is also using a full rather than capped sleeve- see comment above.

3. The belt would not be approvable. It is too narrow and there is a rim around the buckle.

Do note, you can use plain old chinos and a blue dress shirt (with the right collar and the top botton hidden), so the rest of the soft parts are fairly readily availble in regular clothing stores.

Hi Michael, are you still looking? I'm making a few of these (the coat/vest), send a message if so.
