Along with working on a Clone Wars Obi-wan I'm also working on an Episode 3 Obi-wan.

I just finished my inner tunic.

I just need chase some strings now.

I used Potting Soil Brown Linen from JoAnn for the fabric.

Being in Florida, I wanted something that would breathe a little more than regular cotton. I think it also has a good and interesting texture.

Next step I plan to do is make my pants. The ones I have are just place holders.

Update time.

Managed to mock up the outer tunic. I know it's rough because I didn't "finish" a number of things. This was mainly to see if anything need to be taken in or altered as well as how to put it together.

I am planning on figuring out a good way to attach the tabbards to the tunic. That will help keep them in place. I just don't know if I want to use velcro or just go ahead and sew them down.

Let me know your thoughts.

Then finally I have the most important detail. My lightsaber.

I cannot confirm nor denied that I squeed like a girl when I got it.

Until next time, let me know your thoughts.

Typically, you'd use velcro or snaps. Snaps are smaller, but fixed at one position. Velcro may help you with the shoulder line and allows a bit of flexibility, but it is difficult to fasten it in perfect position without help.

Looking good!
I would use Velcro to affix the tabbards.
My Romans Elite Inception is on its way...I WILL giggle and stare at it when I receive it-garanteed!

That's the plan. I think Velcro at the shoulders and maybe even the front.

Got the first stage of the outer tunic done.

It's still a little rough in areas. I still need to do the shoulder tucks among other things.

Overall, pleased with the out come. Can't wait to see it all together. Let me know what you all think.

I like the color and texture of the fabric. Is it gauze?

Yep. It's 3 layers of crinkle gauze from fabric.com.

I should have the outer tunic done, minus obi and tabbards, this weekend, so check back for updates.
