Welcome to Tython Base – covering NSW and ACT within Australia!
If you are new to The Rebel Legion – follow the below steps to start you off..

FIRST: Have a read of the Rebel Legion “Welcome” sub-forums!
Go to ->

SECOND: Introduce yourself!
Go to the “Tython Introductions” sub-forum (http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1154), and create a NEW THREAD to introduce yourself…

Tell us a bit about yourself such as…

What got you into Star Wars Costuming?

What Costume are you thinking of putting together?

What part of ACT/NSW do you hail from?

THIRD: Research the costume you want to build!
Head on over to the forum index, then scroll down to the “Costume and Prop Making” section (http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/index.php?c=4), where you will find all sorts of resources to help with making your costume.

Make sure to locate the costume standard for the costume you want to build too, this is what your costume will be judged against. Head to -> http://www.rebellegion.com/costume-standards/by-category/


FOURTH: Start a Costume build thread!
Go to the Tython Costume Build Diary sub-forum (http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=646), and create a NEW THREAD to cover your build process. It is a good idea to post in here as often as possible, so you can get tips and feedback regarding your costume.

It can also be very helpful to make a thread in the relevant sub-forum for your costume type (see previous point), so that you can also get help from others who are making similar costumes to you!!


FIFTH: Submit a costume!
Click on “Register a Costume and Upgrade to Rebel Legion Membership” found in the Forum, and Costume Controls area.

You will then need to fill in the form as best as possible (add as many photos as you can, against a plain solid coloured background). Make sure to click SUBMIT APPLICATION at the bottom of the page!

The Legion Costume Judge (LCJ) will be in contact with you to cover any amendments or changes… If all is good, they will then approve your costume, and you are ready to troop with us.

Remember: Be patient. Your costume will be looked at as soon as possible… The Legion Costume Judges are regular people with lives outside of the RL, and sometimes they may not get to your application for a little while. It can take up to 2 weeks!

Once you are approved, you will have full Rebel Legion Member access to the forums, and to your local Base, so have a look around at all the new sub-forums!


SIXTH: Working With Children Check (WWCC)!
The next important thing is to get your VOLUNTEER Working with Children Check (WWCC). This is completely free to apply for and get.

If you do not have this, you may be unable to attend certain events where this is required...

To apply for a WWCC, please follow the below instructions:
ACT Register at -> https://form.act.gov.au/smartforms/servlet/SmartForm.html?formCode=1318
NSW Register at -> https://wwccheck.ccyp.nsw.gov.au/Applicants/Application#
(If you already have a WWCC, skip to the last step!)
* Make sure to apply for a “VOLUNTEER” check
* Category is “Child Entertainment”
* Once the form is completed, you may need to attend an RMS to certify your ID
* After all this, you will be provided a WWCC number!
* Go to the “Tython Base Members Only” sub-forum, and look for the thread called “Working with Children Check (WWCC)”
* Reply to that thread with your *WWCC #* and *EXPIRY DATE*


SEVENTH: Trooping Time!
Once your costume has been approved, you will officially become a Rebel Legion Member. This gives you access to some additional sub-forums, including the Tython Mission Planning section!

To find out what troops we will be attending, click on the Tython Mission Planning sub-forum (http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=498). In here you will see a list of all planned events / troops coming up. If you plan on attending any of these, please make sure to SIGN UP in the thread so we know you will be there (this also covers you for all insurances for the event).

REMEMBER –> Not signed up via RL = Not allowed to attend as RL!! So, please sign up to all events you will attend on behalf of the Rebel Legion Tython Base, well in advance

Also please note, that by signing up to the event, you agree that some basic personal details may be supplied on your behalf to the event organisers (only where required), such as name, and WWCC.


EIGHTH (and finally): Troop Report!
The final step of a troop is the troop report. To see these, go to the Tython Troop Reports sub-forum -> http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=653
A troop report must be submitted after the troop has completed, so we have a record of how the troop went, and who ended up attending. This is also required for insurance purposes! This report is written up by those attending the troop, so if you are the only person who attended the troop, then you get to write the report
