After 2 years of planning and procrastinating, I'm finally getting started on my robes!

I started on the under tunic this week. It's made of unbleached muslin. I drafted the pattern myself and am hand sewing it.

I'm still working on it, but I wanted to share it so far.

Very best of luck with the build.

Do you have a plan or any sketches? Happy to help if so.

It took me way too long to get more pictures up here.

Here are the fabrics I'm intending to use:

My sketch for the under tunic and possibly pants to go under the skirt:

The inner robe and skirt:

Tabards and obi sketch:

Very rough sketch for the tabard and obi pattern:

I've changed the design for the inner tunic and I'm happier with it this way. I keep going back and forth on whether to have the tabards and obi be olive green instead. I may just have to get the other layers made and decide at that point.

Any help or opinions are appreciated!

Great to see you got the images to show. Love the green and cream. The pattern looks good as well.

Not often you see people doing mandarin collars on inner tunics. Smile Good to see some progress.

I needed to take a break from doing drafting and construction so I started working on the embroidery for the tabards and obi.

The finalized pattern:

I traced the pattern onto unbleached muslin and pinned it to the green silk.

Because the silk wouldn't take the pattern transfer well, I'm working from the wrong side.

The first piece is just over half done.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to sketch out my outfits and that helped so much with knowing what I did and didn't want. Before I was just trying to imagine things and just couldn't decide on what I thought was better.
