|
|
|
Hello! So I'm only a few pieces away from completing my Senate Leia (Be posting the build thread soon) and I had a question of how big the hair buns need to be (cover the ears? No?) and if anyone had a reccomendation as to where to get a wig for it? (Terrible hairline and way to short) |

Fairly big. They pretty much cover the ears.
I know others have enjoyed the Arda Leia wig, but added extra hair to the pigtails to get enough volume. You can also get a different shoulder length wig; just avoid one with bangs and make sure it has a center part. You can then put the hair into little pigtails behind and just above the ears and use extentions to create the buns. _________________

for leia wigs as well.. i have seen great success with shorter/thinner wigs than the arda leia. as it can be very heavy, so is harder to style the buns.
the buns are super big and need lots of volume, and to do that with a really long/thick wig will be heavy and difficult. as was said above,
a thinner/shorter wig, styled into bunches, then using extensions or kanekalon bundles can get a similar result but is much lighter and likely to stay in shape. there are some tutorials on the forums for how to twist the buns using kanekalon
if the thinner wig shows the wig tracks/sparse spots at the parting, try parting it in a shallow zigzag before putting it into the two bunches right behind and slightly higher than the ear.
hope this helps a little bit : ) _________________ Beth Mitchell (Naberrie)

This picture is one of my favorites for sizing, so it might help! You should be able to cover your ears, and it fit the majority of the side of your head. They shouldn't come too far below your ears, the bottom of hers can be seen from some angles in the movie
As for wigs, Arda is popular but it does take a bit to get them to work. Hero Hair does a great Leia Wig, they are pricey but do payment plans from what I know. Their stuff is worth the price and they're great to work with. _________________
