Hi all.
I have been admiring the armor worn on the CW’s and decided to go for it. I got a forearm bracer kit from Imperial Surplus and what follows will be the build for others to review and for RL judges to chime in.

I’ll start with cutting and trimming the armor:

After sanding all the edges it is on to test fitting for size and where to place the shims:

I wanted to get the top seams as close together as possible so there would be less sanding and filling to do.

The bottoms I will leave open so I can open and close them. I’ll use Velcro to accomplish that.

Test for with glove and hand plate. I don’t want the glove to bind.

Next I started filling the seams(I had them pretty tight) using a plastic weld. I used this because it is more flexible than bondo and does not crack from repeated “on and off”

I used 220 and 320 grit sand paper in between coats.

More filling and sanding...

I sanded all armor with 320 paper in preparation for priming. On to paint next!

Final paint, I used a satin white which I will eventually finish with a satin clear coat after the weathering is completed:

Next up was to weather the armor and add some closures to them.

Added some Velcro strip to one side and 3 smaller pieces to the other side.

Next I’ll be ready for submission!

I wanted to add an extra cool touch to the Armour so I added a single led to the com pad...

I used a 3mm green flashing led which uses a watch battery cell, so it will look like an incoming communication...

I then used a nylon flat washer which accentuates the light and makes the washer actually illuminate...
