My husband saw some Scarif Marines at the Science-Fiction-Treffen 2019 on Sunday and now he would like to have one too. He would like to use a Gorka 3 or 4 jacket and a cap. I will make a blue cap for him because I cannot buy coyote brown fabric in Germany and I do not want to order some from abroad.

I have a question. What is the Sten Machine Carbine Magazine sash-style bandolier that is mentioned in Variation B of the torso? When I google it and the two other bandoliers (Sterling SMG magazine carrier bandolier and Sten Machine Carbine Magazine bandolier) in the optional items section I often get the same search results.

I recently went through the same issue with the sten bandoliers. From what I've been lead to believe, the following types are accecptable.

I'm not an official or judge but these seem to be what others are using.

My husband and I have finally found a pair of Chelsea boots that fit him. Unfortunately, they are brown suede so we will have to paint the black Swiss leather gaiters with brown leather paint. The CS states "Gaiters should match boot color regardless of style." How similar do the two shades of brown need to be so that they are considered a match? Painting the boots is not an option because my husband wants to be able to wear them with regular clothing too.

My impression is they should be relatively similar (dark brown matched with another dark brown, not dark brown with light brown), but don't necessarily have to be a perfect match. I'd be curious to hear a judge weigh in to confirm that, though.

Thank you for your input, Kman.

Well, I am back in Germany after being in the USA for three months. Since I had to quarantine for 14 days, I worked on the jacket for my Yavin Operations Trooper/Officer and on the cap for my husband's Scarif Marine. I modified Jaro Krieg's pattern that I bought from his Etsy shop FullMetalFantasy a couple of years ago. I changed the shape of the top shield so that the corners where two shields met are less pointy. The shape of the top shield is similar to the one I made for the prototype of my EA Battlefront 2 Tatooine Rebel Specialist. I also left off the big flap on the right side because Scarif Marines only have one on the left side. The inlay of the Shields are two layers of Vlieselien/Vilene S 520 with one layer Vlieselien/Vilene Decovil I in the middle. This material makes the shields of the cap stiffer than the stuff that I used on my other caps.

I just finished sewing my husband's cap. I have not even washed off the chalk markings yet. His Scarif Marine will have a Gorka anorak.

I am also going to sew one for me but mine will be blue because I wanted to add more color. I am already making a khaki Cassian Andor style jacket and a tan flak vest. We do not have the correct goggles yet so I used another set of ski goggles for the photos.

Here are some items that we already have for the costume. I am not sure yet if we are going to use Swiss gaiters. We would probably have to paint them so that they are similar in color to his boots. They are also very tight on my husband because he has thick calves. I might just make a set of anklets instead.

My husband wants to use the coyote brown pants from his Rebel Vanguard costume. They are Helikon-Tex SFU NEXT Pants. I might change the PLCE belt to an olive green one and keep the tan one for my Marine.

Ralf did not want any of the bandoliers. I instead ordered a U.S. Medium Olive Drab Nylon Grenade Vest for him. It arrived this afternoon. I was lucky to find a large vest from a German seller on eBay. Ralf's Gorka 3 anorak should arrive in a couple of weeks. It is coming from Ukraine.

Ralf's Russian Gorka 3 anorak, which I ordered in Ukraine via Etsy, arrived today. It only took a little more than a month to get here. I am impressed.

This is how the Gorka 3 anorak looks like after one machine washing. This was the easiest weathering of all times. No one would believe that it is brand new. I took off the shoulder pockets, the visible buttons, and the ties of the hood.
