I can see them. Smile

It looks good. I hope you will be more satisfied with this yoke than with the last.

I did the quilting on the yoke. I still have to tie off and trim the threads.

Here is a shot of it with my patterns - the original one I printed out (info on the pattern) and the one I traced and added seam allowances to.

Next will be the collar. Then I will start the cape!

Beautiful work! It's fun to see that shape laid out flat.

This is lovely! I'm using my quarantine time to start the cape embroidery. Just ordered fabric and about to order floss. How many skeins of each color did you need? Worried about colors selling out so I wanted to buy all up front. Thanks!

I use 2 strands doubled over.

24 Yellow
15 Brown
15 Burgundy
15 Rust Red
6 Dusty Rose
20 Butter cream

If anything these are a bit generous. For example, I started with 24 yellow and have done 4 panels (all the yellow is done in my 4th) and I have 7 skeins left - so I probably would have been fine with 22, but it came in a 12 pack.

I started with 12 of each color (except yellow which I started with 24). The only ones I didn’t need to buy more of are the dusty rose - I will probably only use half - and the yellow since I bought twice the amount.

Quick update.

First for my build. I have finished the fourth panel and started on the 5th and final!!

For my commission build, I have finished the yoke and I am now working on the actual cape. I have cut the fabric and lining and pinned in the pleats. I will press the pleats and baste them. Then I will be at a bit of a holding pattern until I can do a fitting to make sure everything is draped correctly.

I've still been steadily embroidering my cape and also working on the finishing touches for Michelle's ensemble.

This is what I have left on the last panel (cut off is some of the yellow outline at the bottom)

After finishing the pants - hand sewing and putting the hooks on the cuffs, I decided that they were entirely too long, so I shortened them about 2 inches. Also these cuffs will be the death of me. I had to sew one 4 times. Hopefully this will mean I won't have as much issue with mine!

Here are Michelle's pants - we are similar sizes - I am a bit bigger and she is an inch taller than me.

Also, I still have my jeans on underneath them Smile

Here is the full outfit

Also, I decided the trim I had was still too narrow, so i bought more and started braiding. I've done 2 5m spools worth of braids so far and I am waiting for the final 2 spools to arrive to do the last braid. It brought me back to middle school!

So I discovered a pretty ingenious way to do the braids right from the spools and not get a tangled mess! Place 2 spools in your lap one in front of the other. The 3rd spool with be your working spool - keep the lead short and keep it in your hand. Think of it was weaving instead of braiding. The working spool will go over than under the 2 strands (going from left to right) and then switch the 2 lap strands with the outside one on top. Then go back to the left - over under with the working spool (I was passing it back and forth) and then cross the right outermost on top of the center. Clear as mud? May be I'll do a video when I am working on the next braid.

So the cape. I have cut out the arm holes and will do a small top stitched hem along them.

I think this is all I have to share for now!
