Ok so I dont have a sample of that slate one, You could however get the slate one to see? It may be a bit dark. but their twills are a little more textured than the twill you have I think.......I have a feeling its like this one below. It has a little more sheen on it, if you see what i mean.

https://www.calicolaine.co.uk/grey-cotton-spandex-plain-fabric.html

It may be a tad light, but its the same handle I think. its usually the same stuff at fabric-land.....they don't always have it in-store though.

I've also ordered the three dyes listed in that recipe. When material arrives I'll try the sock recipe and see what happens. Do you use hot or cold water?

follow the directions for normal all purpose rit, just use the sock recipe for the amounts of water dye etc. Remember to pre-wash the fabric first......if its a little bit i just do in the sink, right before i dye.

Both sample materials (the lightest one feels closest in material) and dyes have all arrived. Just need some time to experiment now.

Also I've started working on the strapping and attachment for the wrist greeblie. I've not started the straps yet. But it's starting to come together.

This is the colour the lighter fabric went. In person it looks a nice olivey green buy like Rey photographs differently.

Here are the results. The trousers look much better. The cuffs were in the same dye mix for over an hour and there are darker but that's as dark as they will go.

The pants look much better! Smile For the cuffs, it may be easier just to replace them. You can buy pre-made cuffs and just swap them out.

Here are some for sale on Amazon:

This appears to be the same stuff as you listed. Will this work as is or will it need dying?

Also the jacket collar is lowered (well it's lowered and the machineable parts are stitched rest will be hand stitched tomorrow) . It sits about an inch lower and some of my neck is visible even with my arms out.

First pic is collar originally.

This pic is the lowered collar (rubbish pic bit it shows the general idea)

Brilliant. Sounds good to me. Once cuffs are sorted she's nearly there.
