I'm going to start working on Arena Padme here. Ultimate goal is to do both the ripped version and version with the poncho. I don't really have a deadline in mind, just gonna work on this one at my leisure, so progress may be slow.

I currently have enough fabric on hand to do one shirt and the pants. I bought this ponte from Joann. Its pretty thick, and it has a nice off-white appearance in person, which is really great!

https://www.joann.com/summer-ponte-knit-fabric-58-solid/zprd_15781016a.html#start=1

I ordered these boots in light brown from Amazon, and intend to paint them the proper color.

I always get my leather paint from Angelus because its such a great brand, but I'm currently split between colors to paint the boots, shins, belt, and accessories. My top choice is the bone color. The CRL calls for bone white specifically, but I worry that it might be a shade or two too light. Sand is another option, I think it might be a bit on the darker side though.

Shinguards and belt will be made of leather using what I have on hand here. I might also do the pouches and blaster holster in leather too just to keep it uniform. I've got a ton of leather here already, so it's very convenient for me.

I'm going to make the armbands with aluminum sheets and elastic glued to the backside. I saw it once a while back, and I really liked that idea!

I'm planning on repainting a Rubie's blaster for this. I've already got one ready to go.

I haven't gone into choosing poncho fabric yet. Its one of the last things on my mind in terms of priority right now. I'll post choices here once I look into it.

With all of the extra time I have right now, it's looking likely that I'll have progress on the pants and a shirt sometime in the next week or two!

Sounds like you have most of what you need to do this costume. Smile Maybe get both colors and mix them to get the shade you want?
Good luck with it.

More planning stuff underway!

I settled on Angelus paint in natural and cream. Someone on the Facebook page used a mix of those colors and it turned out beautifully, so I will do the same! An order is placed, but they're closed due to COVID-19, so it might be a bit before I get that shipped out to me.

I'm also looking at cape fabrics. I really like this one. Thoughts?

Also bought a little more of the ponte knit to do the ripped shirt as well, and aluminum for the armbands has also been purchased! Should be getting started on this very soon!

That blanket pattern is a pretty nice waffle pattern. It looks good to me!

The pattern looks a bit too tight to me; I'd like to see a larger, looser waffle pattern, but otherwise it's pretty good. Smile

I found some spare time to get the pants and ripped shirt sewn in the last couple weeks! I'm currently not wearing a nude bra for this, so forgive me lol.

Excellent. Smile Now to give those edges some work to look less clean. Wink

I've made lots of progress on this since I last posted! Clean shirt is finished, armbands are done, blaster is painted, cape is sewn, belt has been started, and boots arrived in the mail!

For the cape, I opted for a different blanket instead of what I had originally picked out. It has a wider weave pattern that looks a little better. Here's the link to the one I bought.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Grand-Hotel-Woven-Cotton-Throw-Blanket/353044481847?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=622238524955&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

My original idea was to make the armbands out of aluminum, but I decided to use worbla instead. I had plenty of the white stuff leftover from my Invasion Gown headdress! I etched lines into the strips I cut to give it a segmented look.

The boots obviously haven't been painted yet, as has the belt. My leather paint came in, so I plan on doing that sometime this week.

I'm pleased with how the blaster turned out! I had to do a lot of sanding to get rid of the wording and extra points that weren't supposed to be there. I also roughly finger painted some black into the handle to give it a bit more of a wood look.

As always, thoughts on how things look are very much appreciated. If I need to adjust something, I'd rather do it now than after I submit lol Amadalia

It's looking really good! Like your idea of using worbla for the armbands Smile

I made lots more progress last weekend! Boots are completely painted, and the shins are finished and painted as well! I'm honestly super proud of them, they turned out so much better than I could have hoped for.

Here's to hoping the pouches and holster turn out just as good lol. I'm aiming to get them started this weekend.

I've got my hair pieces finished and ready to go too. I made them following this video. Very easy to make, and Got2b hair gel keeps them from unraveling on me (which they started doing several times while making them lol).

Your progress is looking great! Very Happy I like the looser weave for the cape, too.
