I'd say that curved hilts should be approvable, as long as they don't have a red, pink, or black blade and aren't an established dark side character's hilt or otherwise very darkside-looking. Especially since, in addition to Ahsoka, there's now a good example of a Jedi with a curved hilt in the Darth Vader comics. There's nothing in the standards that says you can't have a curved hilt - it'd be no different than having a crossguard hilt like Kylo Ren's. They're just rare among both Jedi and darkside users, is all (at least during the time period of the movies), partly because they're more challenging to construct as the curve makes aligning the crystals difficult. A curved hilt isn't inherently darksided - the point of a curved hilt was to allow greater precision and finesse when lunging and slashing, and would be desirable for a Jedi who favored Form II (Makashi) as a fighting style, although it could also work well with other styles. Basically, curved hilts are great for dueling but difficult to use for deflecting blaster bolts.

Here's what the standards say for a generic Jedi:

5. Lightsaber:
(No toy sabers, no Ultimate FX short saber). The lightsaber may be a static prop (hilt-only). Attached blade(s), LED lights, and sound effects, are allowed but not required.

a. Metal hilt lightsabers are preferred, though custom lightsabers constructed of other materials are permitted.

b. Blade colors accepted are: blue, green, yellow, orange, white and violet. No red, pink or black blades.

c. Double-blade sabers are allowed.
