Hello guys,

Iím almost done with my Luke but Iím having a little bit of trouble finding a saber.

Iím looking for one that just has the basic sounds and light and detachable blade if possible. Iím trying to stay around $100 to $150. I just donít know what ones are approvable and what ones arenít.

for that price you're looking at a Hasbro(or master replicas) 'Force-FX'

looks like this:

the shape is not quite accurate , but these are accepted by the judges.

for that price you might also consider just a belt-hanger hilt (no blade or electronics)

a few years ago, eFX made cosplay "Stunt Saber" hilts for $99 MSRP

they had 2 "Luke ROTJ" offerings : 1 pristine and 1 weathered

they look like this:

unfortunately, a custom (fan-made) saber will probably cost around $300-$400

Neutral

the ParkSAbers "gullwing" starts at $325 (no blade)

Thank you!!

Thereís a company on Etsy that goes for about $250 but Iím not trying to buy a saber that cost more than my costume if I can help it.

Eventually I will get a more accurate one when I have the funds.

I got the Arc Wave from Parks Sabers. It's perfect. And cost me $225.

So, not too much above your price range, but still a bit over. The Force FX one that is out now is OK. I used it briefly. The blade does not detach, but it is sturdy and looks pretty good, though not perfect.

EDIT: It has been renamed the Gullwing, and cost has gone up. Bummer.

Yes the force FX are not perfect and not my favorite but I wanna get this costume going soon then afterwards upgrade to something better. Just wish there was a better quality one for around the same price.

I've seen this saber at Walmart and Target.
They have been priced at $149.99.
Might be the saber you're looking for.

I hear ya. The Force FX is fine. That's exactly what I did. I used it for a while and then upgraded. I will say that the Force FX Luke ROTJ is very sturdy. It will take a beating and do just fine. So, if and when you upgrade, it makes a fine gift for a Star Wars loving niece. Just saying. Wink

For $100~150 force fx would be only option for full functional lightsaber but only hilt, you can find more detailed one.

I also have a same problem with it.

I wonder it is OK with V1 Hero lightsaber cuz legion standard just requires 'Lukeís accurate ROTJ lightsaber'.. unlikely DS Duel requires 'Lukeís ROTJ hero lightsaber hilt'.

cuz I already have a Hero hilt for my ROTJ Luke Dearth Star Duel costume, and will make a complete lightsaber with it.

or should I make V2 stunt one?

Hi!

Not to pat myself on the back, but I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to sabers, and it really comes down to your budget. Obviously the more you pay, the more accurate it can get. If you're trying to save money though, the cheapest way to get a RL approved saber with basic lights and sounds is to get the Black series. It has decent sound, the only problem is that the blade is not removable, which would be a problem if you want to wear it on your belt.

Luckily though, you're able to convert it to an in-hilt LED, by wiring a super powerful LED to the soundboard. That way you're able to take off the blade, or pop it in if you want to duel. You can also get a metal conversion kit, which replaces the stock plastic blade holder with a metal one, which makes it suitable for full contact dueling.

Now, if you'd like me to, I would be more than happy to convert it for you. I'm trying to get my name out there as a saber installer, so I wouldn't charge much at all.

Here's an ESB Luke saber I just completed.

Any feedback on whether the Ultrasabers Archon would be approvable?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to get a saber for a ROTJ Luke and have searching about it.

What do you think about this?...https://rebelsabers.com/collections/knight-collection/products/classic-hero-saber

Any other recommendation?.

Thanks
Jean

Hard to say with only one picture, but looks fairly reasonable.

There's also quite a few saber FB groups with various vendors that might not get mentions here and there might be some possibilities there beyond the big ones like Ultrasabers, Hasbro/Master Replicas, EFX and such
