I have a question about the standards for Resistance Rey.

The standards say:
3. Pants: The pants should be made from brown twill, cotton, denim, or like fabric:

Many reference photos show a suede of suede like fabric for the pants. Are suede pants approvable?

Her pants are *definitely* not suede, so I can't imagine that would approved.

When I look at these photos from the costume on display the pants look suede or at least something similar to suede. In the Netherlands we call this fake suede suedine. I am unsure if it has an official English name.

I found this fabric when looking for something else and I actually like it a lot for the Resistance Rey pants. This is a fake suede with some stretch. I honestly think this looks closer to the original than denim, which is mentioned in the standards.

I'm sorry, I was thinking of one of her other outfits.

You're referring to this one, though:

I agree that definitely looks like suede (or at least fake suede). Perhaps the Standards should be updated?

As to the suede you found, Id recommend finding something a little bit lighter and weathering it darker. If you start too dark, even though it's pretty close now, once you add weathering (or natural wear and tear) it's going to start to get a lot darker.

Ooooh, this costume tried to kill me. We have so little footage of it in TFA and it's all from far away. I'm not sure how much we get in TLJ (more for sure), since I'd already completed it by then. But the color is so, so tricky. Gray/green/tan. I didn't think the pants looked like suede then, but in looking now, I agree that it looks like it. Hard to say for sure, though. I'd say any material that achieves the look is likely fine.
