Resistance Officers Version A, TFA:



CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
Resistance officers were military officers of the Resistance, General Leia Organa’s private military group that opposed the First Order.

REQUIRED ITEMS
1. Jacket:
    • Medium to dark brown jacket. Fabric with a fulled/brushed texture and no visible weave (similar to melton wool, or moleskin) is preferred.
    • Mandarin collar approximately 5 cm (2 inches) high. Collar has a curved edge.
    • Collar has 3 rows of topstitching approximately 1.3 cm (½ inches) apart.
    • Jacket front overlaps left over right with no visible closures. (Screen used closures were hooks and eyes. Other invisible closures are also acceptable.)
    • Jacket opening runs from the right side of the neckline down to the belt. Beginning at either the top or bottom of the belt, the opening curves sharply to the left.
    • Belt is threaded through a slit in the left side, and the buckle/closure is hidden.
    • Front princess seams curving from the sleeve across the bust.
    • Back fitted to the waist through the side seams.
    • Jacket bottom flares slightly.
    • Center back seam.
    • Shoulder seams running from the collar to the sleeve on either side.

Optional:
    ● Jacket back has a single center vent for movement.
    ● Mandarin collar has piping inserted between the lining and the outer fabric in-between the rows of topstitching to create a ridged look.
    ● Internal shoulder pads.
    ● Weathered fabric Starbird patch on the left shoulder patch. Base of patch is a tan fabric circle with frayed edges. Starbird is a dark red, printed or appliqued onto the circle.

2. Trousers:
    ● Dark brown in a bottom-weight woven fabric such as a twill or gabardine.
    ● Fly front.
    ● Straight leg fit worn tucked into boots.

3. Belt:
    ● Golden brown to dark brown leather/leather-like belt
    ● Approximately 5 cm (2 inches) wide
    ● Any rivets are hidden
    ● Belt is threaded through a slit in the left jacket flap, and the buckle is hidden or mostly hidden.

If buckle is visible:
    ● Weathered, silver toned, solid rectangular buckle
    ● Buckle is the same width as the belt

4. Boots:
Option 1:
    ● Calf high brown leather or leather-like boot
    ● Flat sole
    ● Horizontal strap at boot top matching boot material
    ● Plain without decoration or elastic inserts

Optional:
    ● Vertical zipper on the inside

Option 2:
    • Knee high brown boots
    • Flat sole or low, block or wedge heel
    • May have an inside zipper
    • May have a tab at the top secured by a metal stud

Option 3:
    • Dark brown ankle high boots
    • Flat sole
    • Worn with dark brown woven leg-wraps that reach just below the knee

    (Screen used are similar to WWI puttees.)

5. Resistance rank badge:
    ● Resistance rank badge, any branch any rank
    ● Worn on the left side of costumer’s chest
    ● Grey rectangular badge approximately 3.5x7cm (1 3/8 x 3/4 inches)
    ● 4 alternating stripes either Red/White or Blue/White on the left third of the badge:

Approximate Stripe Width:
    ● Color (Red or Blue) 12 mm (1/2 inch)
    ● White 3 mm (1/8 inch)
    ● Color (Red or Blue) 2 mm (1/32 inch)
    ● White 5 mm (5/64th inch)

On the right side of the badge:
    ● Rank symbol centered on grey/silver
    ● Color of the symbol matches the color of the stripes

OPTIONAL ITEMS:
1. Shirt:
    • Cream/light tan to dark beige, long sleeved shirt of lightweight woven fabric, such as cotton.
    • Sleeves are gathered into a wide cuff ending at the wrist. Cuff fasteners should be hidden.
    • Standing collar approximately 2.54 cm (1 inch) tall
    • Opens at the left shoulder or the left front, secured with hidden fasteners.

Note: these are consistent with the existing TFA Jr. Controller Standard, and they wear the same shirt.

2. Cap:
    • Brown fabric in a shade matching the jacket
    • Military patrol style cap with a brim and solid back
    • May have an integrated hat band
    • Band may have sections/ear flaps that fold up
    • Cap may include a scarf like flap covering the neck or be worn over a matching scarf

3. Resistance Medical Services Arm Band:
    • Teal fabric arm band
    • Worn on left upper arm
    • Arm band is approximately 7.5 cm (3 inches) wide
    • White Aurebesh lettering approximately 2.5 cm (1inch) high that translates to “MED”

4. Satchel/Bag:
Option 1:
    • Canvas military style bag
    • Cross body length strap in varying widths
    • Cream, tan or olive drab green canvas
    (Some screen used are likely two Dutch/Sten magazine pouches sewn together, others are plain messenger style bags.)


Option 2:
    • Rectangular medic bag
    • Light grey or cream fabric with diamond shaped quilting
    • Rigid sides
    • White or cream strap with an optional diamond shape pattern
    • May have cylindrical tubes or hoses attached
    • May feature a clear vinyl window exposing electronics

5. Bandolier:
    • Cross body leather or leather-like strap
    • May have small ammo type pouches of a matching material attached
    • Approximately 10.16 cm (4 inches) wide

    • Brown leather or leather-like rectangular pouches in varying size and number
    • Worn on belt in various configurations

7. Holster:

Option 1:
    ● Dark brown leather or leather-like holster
    ● Hung from the belt on the costumer’s right side with a single loop
    ● Holster folds over the Glie-44 pistol from right to left
    ● Right side of the holster has a U-shaped cut-out at the front fold, resulting in two straps that extend across the face of the holster to the opposite side. The underfold extend above the upper fold by about 1.27 cm to 1.9 cm (½ inch to ¾ inch)

Option 2:

    ● Hung from the belt on the costumer’s right side with a single loop

    ● Right side of the holster tapers to be narrower at the front fold, and the left side is cut so the top angles down to the right.
    ● The underfold extends above the upper fold by about 1.27 cm to 1.9 cm (½ inch to ¾ inch)

Fantastic! Great collection of references, there. Smile

Question: I've noticed for some of the people, the belt seems to be a little bit wider than the standard 2" belt. Some seem to be at least 2.5". I'm curious about your take on that. (And if so, perhaps add some size to the belt option?) The regular 2" seems most common (that's what mine is, too), but still, some of those definitely seem a bit wider than the norm, to me.

I *really* want one of those caps...

Hey Kalani! For the belt, can you shoot me a ref or post one for the one you are thinking of? I think you might be correct and ranges are always a good thing to have in CS.

And for the cap, I have a pattern I can bring to the build day for you to copy. Smile

Oooh... yeah, please, on that pattern! I wish I had seen this sooner!

I'll see if I can dig up a quick-and-dirty overlay photo I through together at one point when I was trying to figure it out.
